Clearinghouse Seeks Associate Publisher for Design and Production

The WAC Clearinghouse is opening a new position for associate publisher for design and production. This person in this position will work with the publisher and other associate publishers on issues related to the Clearinghouse’s publications, with a strong focus on working with book manuscripts. We are particularly interested in applicants who bring a strong background in editing and publishing.

Position Description and Deadline

The associate publisher for design and production works with the publisher and other members of the Clearinghouse operational leadership team to support production of the Clearinghouse books, journals, resources, and websites. Key duties include assessing and improving Clearinghouse websites, identifying and addressing accessibility of websites and publications, overseeing the assignment and accuracy of DOIs, identifying and testing potential development tools, and engaging in graphic design, among other areas. Activities also include reviewing manuscripts as they enter the copyediting and production process, working with copyeditors, and finalizing manuscripts for production. The associate publisher works with the publisher, other associate publishers, series editors, and journal editors to accomplish these goals. The associate publisher serves as a member of the operational leadership team within the WAC Clearinghouse. The associate publisher will also serve as a member of the Clearinghouse Editorial Board.

Like all other positions with the WAC Clearinghouse, this position is voluntary and unpaid. The expected term is three years and may be renewed.
