AWAC’s Mentoring Committee is excited to announce this year’s AWAC Summer Reads book, Adapting the Past to Reimagine Possible Futures: Celebrating and Critiquing WAC at 50.
Framed by the IWAC 2023 conference theme of WAC in transitional times, Writing Worldviews: Extended Scholarly Conversations from IWAC 2023, edited by Christopher Basgier, Terry Myers Zawacki, Magnus Gustafsson, Sue Hum, and Maureen Mathison, offers a diversity of perspectives on growth and change in the field amid social, political, educational, technological, and global pressures.
The WAC Clearinghouse seeks applications to join the editorial team of the Practices & Possibilities book series. The series, which has been quite active, addresses the full range of practices within the field of writing studies, including instructional practices, research methodologies, and professional practices. The successful candidates will join a collegial team of editors who meet monthly to discuss submissions and reviews of book proposal and manuscripts and to discuss and set the overall direction of the series. The editor will also serve as a member of the Clearinghouse Editorial Board. Learn more.
Endorse the Statement on Open‑Access Scholarly Publishing
Principles for Open-Access Scholarly Publishing has been released by the WAC Clearinghouse. The statement was developed with contributions from 17 scholars in the writing studies community and is endorsed by more than 60 individuals, publications, and organizations. The statement web page provides options for endorsing or making further contributions to the document.

Bale is a collaborative, open-access annotated bibliography that connects voices and texts in storytelling scholarship across rhetoric, composition, and writing studies.
The First-Year Composition Archive offers resources for scholars and teachers to explore trends, history, and pedagogy in first-year writing. The team invites faculty to share syllabi and course materials and use the archive to support course design, research, and writing instruction.
The Writing Analytics website provides resources that support the writing analytics community, including journals, conferences and conference archives, and other information relevant to the community.
CSAL, the Center for the Study of Academic Labor, is an official Colorado State University research center focused on issues related to labor policy and conditions in higher education.
