Beats is referred to as “a leading audio brand founded in 2006 by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine” (“People Aren’t Hearing All The Music”). Dre as an American rapper and Lovine as music producer. Since then, this corporation has grown into one of the most popular forms of music entertainment and streaming. It offers a group of high quality performing headphones, earbuds, and speakers. Beats has impacted this generation with the quality of music brought right to their ears with premium sound. Beats was soon bought and taken over by Apple Inc. continuing the sound of tunes for music lovers worldwide.

The ad itself draws the audience to Elvis, allowing them to recognize him and make an instant connection between him and the Beats logo in the back. The viewers are able to connect Elvis’ musical talents to Beats being one of the leading forms of music equipment. His presentation is shown in a more serious way with him sitting down in a 1900s style suit from his time. His hands are held together while his right index finger is touching his face, and he is staring straight into the audience in all seriousness. Seems fitting that Beats would use Elvis as a model for this advertisement, since it is where the company was founded and the homeland of Elvis himself. Because Beats gives off very high quality sounds in their equipment, they are presented in a more elaborate and formal way in this and in many of their ads just like this one. The image has a color scheme of mostly greys, and blacks. Even Elvis is dressed accordingly, but the headphones he has on are in a popping red color. The headphones are presented as an outcast to make sure the audience knows who the headphones belong to and what company they are representing.

The ad uses Elvis more of as a symbol. The famous music sensation, multiple bangers, Grammy nominee and winner is exactly what you need for a successful sound entertainment’s ad. They have presented him straight forward, in the center of the ad, and as the biggest object on the image. He is the music symbol Beats is trying to use here, for the advertisement of their equipment. The feeling if a music sensation like him uses this product then maybe everyone else can too. The appeal of pathos makes a presentation here. It makes the audience feel like they need to buy the product because the ad presents one of the most famous musicians using it, a bandwagon type of advertisement. Attracting an audience of anyone who loves music. Men, woman, and teenagers, who are knowledgeable about what Beats are but, allowing older folks to take one look and know exactly what this ad campaign is about. Music and the great influence Elvis Presley had on it. 

 Thus the statement, “The King” is presented in big, black, bold, and underlined letters, so everyone takes the hint. It is not just common for Americans, but for the people in the world to know who the king of rock and roll is. General knowledge if you live in the United States, you know exactly who one is referring to in the rock and roll music industry when they say “The King”. The Beats symbol is also presented big and black, and located next to Elvis and above the underlined words. The Beats symbol has become well known throughout this generation. For most young music lovers, it is simply common to take a look at this symbol and know exactly what it means and who it is representing. Though Beats is a relatively new company, it has grown immensely and now that Apple owns it, it will continue to grow and be advertised.

Beats entertainment had become so popular and well known that Apple Inc. the world’s leading in music entertainment purchased it and now runs it, only eight short years after the company had begun. Beats has been advertised by numerous well known famous icons this generation has come to know. Thus, giving off the appeal of Ethos. Credibility, is trustworthy and by knowing the strong influences Beats has had on the world and the great success it has developed, you know that purchasing one of these headphones is a good investment.

Overall, in the many advertisements Beats have made about their merchandise, this ad represents a good image for the company bringing in a variety of customers by using Presley’s popularity to attract more customers.
