Imagine that while you are sitting with your child eating some food that you have cooked, talking and laughing with your family. You receive suddenly a letter from the local health clinic saying that your baby is overweight and he or she is at risk of getting cancer or heart disease because of that even though it is clear to you that your child is not overweight. That is exactly what happened to Gracie's mother, Laura, and Bailey's mother, Dona, in United Kingdom. (This Morning UK ). Identifying the causes of children obesity, will help us to determine if children obesity is an international problem or not. It seems that children obesity is an international problem because childhood obesity's causes such as genetic, physical activities, family environment, food choices, and government policies are different all around the world. And because of that the percentage of childhood could be different from countries to other, but still that children obesity an international problem.

In order to understand if childhood an international problem or net, we need to know the definition of obesity which is the increasing of the amount of accumulated grease because of eating calories more that the body need ("Childhood Obesity: A Global Public Health Crisis"). In fact there are about 30-35 billions fat cells in every body. This fat cells either increase of get bigger in obese people (The Double Burden Of Obesity And Iron Deficiency On Children And Adolescents In Greece: The Healthy Growth Study"). Manios, Y., et al say there are many different of measurement tools used to measure obesity, the most popular one called BMI, which is divined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height.

Understanding the causes of childhood obesity could be a prove either if children obesity an international or not. The fact that every child has or inherited different genes affects on children's susceptibility in becoming overweight. Indeed, the two genetic reason "susceptibility and heritability" could be the main reason why many children over the word are suffering from obesity. For instance, in our daily life, you might have noticed that there are some children who eat a lot but, their bodies do not influence by that. on the other hand, there are some children do not eat as much but, they are overweight. The explanation of this that there is a gene that had been identified in 2007 called FTO, a human gene involves in the regulation of energy intake, this gene affects in children susceptibility to be overweight or not because FTO has a demethylases area which plays role in energy metabolism. J. A. Jacobsson et al say "A loss of Jhdm2a function disrupts beta-adrenergic stimulation in brown adipose tissue, leading to oxidation and glycerol release deficiency and hence an abnormal accumulation of fat in these mice." This means the work of Jhdm2a, a gene on chromosome that encodes lysine-specific demethylase 3A, could determine if the childe exposed to obesity or not. J. A. Jacobsson et al, Explains the genetic role in obesity, and the important of FTO position in causing possibility for obesity. They also explain how FTO involve in energy metabolism. There is anther genetic reason called heritability reason. You probably have asked yourself why some families numbers all of them or most of them are overweight. The answer for that is mostly because they might inherit specific genes. The heritability factor of getting fat has been estimated more than 50% ("Study finds strong"). This website discusses about an experience that studies twins. They find some inherent genes effect dramatically on childhood obesity. For example, it has been known that eating appetite is a major reason for obesity. In fact, when we think about obesity, the first thought comes to our mind is the amount of food we consume; moreover, the interesting think that Elizabeth Speliotes have found that there are some regions in the genome controls the appetite. In this study Elizabeth Speliotes studies what predispose people to become obese by bringing groups of obese people and comparing their genes. Also she found about 97 different regions of the genome that causes increasing body mass Indox. In additions she identified more than 100 locations across the genome associated with obesity traits. Since susceptibility and heritability lead to obesity that shows children obesity is not exist just in certain country, but in all children over the world who have or inherit those genes.

There are many types of research have been studying the relationship between physical activities and children obesity. In fact, physical activity could be the reason why many children are suffering from obesity in the US. An intervention program has been used in 14 school that promote higher activity levels, in two years a significant change has been noticed in boys and girls in reducing obesity prevalence in girls and participating sports activities. Professor Marie Murphy said. Every child should get 60 minutes physical activity every day ("Obesity Documentary Obesity''). Marie Murphy studies the importance of physical activities and exercise in children. This 60 minutes could be split up such as a walking dog, walking to school or playing a sport. Due to the fact that physical activities contribute to burn the extra sugar and fat that our body does not need, not getting red of this extra sugar and fat could definitely lead to childhood obesity. The more children watch TV, the less physical activites they practice. For example, if child spend a lot of time playing video games or watching TV, he or she will not get the chance to do outdoor activities, therefore, this child will be more likely not to burn his extra sugar in his/her body which lead to obesity. In fact, the weather could be a reason why many children do not get the chance to practice physical activities such as in winter season or too hot summer. For example, in a global study about children obesity in different continents in 2010, Blossner have found the rate of children obesity for preschool students were higher in western Asia, specially in Middle East where the temperature reach about 120 F which means it is so difficult for children to practice any outdoor activities. It is a fact that "the perfect mind in the healthy body"; therefore, physical activities are very important for all the children around the world. So, watching TV should be controlled for children, and no matter how the weather hot or cold there are always some outdoor activities children can play.

Families is another fact would help us to identify either if children obesity is an international of not because families environments have a powerful effect on children obesity. In a study in seven Europe countries Italy, Germany, The Netherland, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Turkey. Olaya, Beatriz, et al find Italian children had the lowest prevalence of childhood obesity and one of the reasons because Italian's mother control their children permission on shopping and doing dishes. Unfurounatliy, there are many families how trying not to hurt the child feeling by not talking to them about their issue. Indeed, that will cause a much bigger problem. Olivia Anchondo's mother says the first thing that we as mothers should do that we tell our child that they are obese, but they are going to do something about it ("Obesity Documentary Obesity"). This mother makes a life changer for her daughter. She replaced every unhealthy food in her house, and after just about eight months her daughter condation became healthier. According to Kar, et al, a parent is the main person responsible for their children's eating behavior and physical activity patterns because those children can easy be shaped. For example, if any father is worried about his child's weight, he would do physical activities with him/her. Mothers play a major role in childhood such as the mother health in pregnancy. For example, a mother who exposed to a high-fat diet and high refined sugar during pregnancy influence the way hypothalamus develops. The hypothalamus is part of how to learn to regulate our feeding, how we learn to respond when we full. For example, if the mother has diabetes, that might influence the child to become an obese. The thing can mother do to secure their children from obesity is breastfeeding because it is a good way to protect a child from obesity comparing with bottle feeding since bottle feeding is easier to cause overfeeding ("Obesity Documentary Obesity 2014 Version Children's Health Crisis NPT Reports"). The number of siblings is another factor that influences in childhood obesity. Olaya, Beatriz, et al illustrate that by saying children who have many siblings will expose to physical activities more than the one who have no sibling. Moreover, in a study of children obesity in nine cites in China, Xin-Nan, Zong, et al find children who raise by their grandparent are more likely to be obese than children who are raised by their parent. This is because parents are more educated than grandparents, so they serve their children healthier options. Also, children who raised by their grandparent get an advantage of their grandparent's kind. For example, I remember when I was a child, the first thing I do to get a candy that I go to my grandmother and kiss her hands, that all what it takes. The same thing Karnik, Sameera, and Amar Kanekar find in comparing between the the level of parent education and children obesity "Childhood Obesity: A Global Public Health Crisis." Because of the fact that family's health, attitude, members, and education's level are different all over the world, we can absorb that childhood obesity not just in US.

Childhood an international problem because governments policy could have an influence in children obesity. In fact, children obesity get impacted in how the roads, schools and fatalities are designed. "In 1969, 48% of children walked or biked to school every day. In 2009, only 13% did. ("Obesity documentary-Obesity). That is what happen in Tennessee the fifth highest rate in the US. Leslie Meehan says Tennessee's cites are not designed to be walkable. That means the only way for a child to go to school is by riding a bus. On the other hand, if we compare the other countries where the children obesity is lowest such as Italy we will note there are walk sides not just for walking, but also for bike all over the roads. (. "Singing in The Rain.") The distance between resident's houses and schools might force children to go to school by bus instead of walking even if they love to walk. The other thing that the government could contribute is how many hour children practice physical activities. In Switzerland, Wintertur, Burgi, Rahel, et al. say that authorities should pay more attention that they need to provide children schools by more physical activities. In this study Burgi, Rahel, et al found that the more are children practice physical activities, the less stress they suffer. In last 10 years, Tennessee has implemented several policies directly targeting children obesity such as support breastfeeding in public, increase physical activity hours in school, and hopefully this policies will reduce childhood obesity in next generations ("Obesity Documentary Obesity 2014 Version Children's Health Crisis NPT Reports"). Building parks is anther way that policy can do to reduce children obesity because when outdoor place become available for children they will practice more outdoor activities such running, ridding bicycle, and walking. In different countries, governments policy truly different some of them are more concern about child health issue so they increase physical activity hours in school and build walkable and bikable roads, but other governments policies might not care about this issue as much.

Children obesity is an international problem because of the fact that in different countries the kind of food that serve is different. In fact, culture celebrations food could contribute in children obesity problem. In comparing between what Americans eat on celebrations such as Fried turkey and Baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, cheese, and bacon) However, US is not the only country that have unhealthy celebrations food. For example, in Oman, children eat a kind of sweet desserts called Halwa which have a lot of sugar and fat as well. This kind of food are not healthy choices for children. On the other hand, Japanese culture food such as Sushi and Chigney are healthy because this traditional food have about 500kJ and 0.2g which is not conceder unhealthy at all. (Healthy eating-food from different culture). Therefore, it is not surprising that one over five children are obese in US, and one over eleven children are obese in Japan ("Childhood Obesity-An Insight Into Preventive Strategies"). The other thing contribute in food choice is Advertisement. For example, if you open any children's channel you will notice a lot of colorful beautiful advertising such as cereal, m&m. Those products could be not the healthiest chose for children. I remember before couple of months when I heard a child cry out laud trying to convince his mother to buy certain kind of candy, his mother tried to tell him that not a good choice but the children insisted to take that candy, and while I'm walking there I surprise how most of the candy are targeted for children by some photos or carbon characters that are recognizable for children. Tammy Algood says children who used not to be targeted, have been one of the most targeted category in stores. Tammy spend a lot of time in Well-mart stores not buy but analyzing how products are sold to people. Speaking of advertisement, there is other kind of advertisement that has been used to target children it is value advertising, unfortunately human nature loves the places where they pay less and get more. For instance, McDonald's children's meat like Chicken McNuggets, Hamburger, and Cheeseburger all of this choices are not healthy for children because it contains a lot of energy which can cause overweight. As countries developing, the food choice that restaurants provides will become more available and spread out. Brenda Morrow, says the urban development was the main reason way people tend to get unhealthy food choices (Obesity documentary). She says that people used to cook their own food which is healthier than what todays restaurant provide. The different culture celebrations food, the advertisement, and the urban development makes the food choices all children around the world get unhealthy food.

Some people might agree with the argument up to now, but others might say that childhood obesity just exist on US because that what some reasons found, in fact, no bodies denies that children obesity is exist in US. However, that does not mean other countries children have the normal BIM or do net suffer from children obesity, in fact the studies show that children obesity in Us are decreasing in last 10 years, and in some developing countries the children obesity is increasing ("Are The Current Indian Growth Charts Really Representative? Analysis of Anthropometric Assessment of School Children in a South Indian District"). The other kind of people might say that we should pay more attention in the countries where there is not even enough food such as what happens in Africa in Somalia or any other countries around the world. I truly believe that we should help those people, but that does not mean we should careless about childhood obesity because the results could be the same.

In conclusion, there are many children in the world who suffer from several disease. Childhood obesity is one of the most increasing problem that children should be aware of. In my opinion, children obesity is an international problem because all of the causes of childhood obesity; genetic, physical activities, family environment, food choices, and government policies exist in most of the countries in the world, it's true that it is exist in different percentages, and no matter how many children are obese in US that not mean the other countries are in a better place in this issue, if look at the other countries. Together, we all should cooperate to give this problem some of our priority in order to solve the impact that obesity cause, otherwise, the next generations will not live as long as their parents.
