This video helps people to visualize how small an atom is. The video producer describes the Nitrogen atom as blueberry inside a grapefruit if the grapefruit was the size of the earth. The speaker explains what is inside the atom, such as nucleus. In order to see the nucleus, the blueberry, which is in the grapefruit, would be as big as marble inside a football stadium. The speaker also, illustrates the density of the atom. It can be visualized as a one cubic foot box filled by all the cars on the earth. This video persuades high school and college students that atoms are very small with it photos, sounds, language, and emotions.

Getting audience attention is the goal for every video producer. This video succeeds to attract the spectators because of its bright colors and pictures which give a good background. For example, there was a funny picture of a famous scientist. Because it was a funny picture, it made the audience more interested in the video. Not only that, the science book and the blackboard that was filled with many chemicals equations contributed to the great background as well. Using a grapefruit picture that balanced with the earth was a good persuasive way to make the audience understand what the speaker was talking. Once he started to speak about the nucleus, it was a persuasive method to make the guy wear diving clothes and start diving in a big blueberry which was the size of football stadium because it no matter how big the atom is scaled, people have to keep digging many times to see its nucleus. It was a clever idea to use a Gorilla picture before he starts to speak about density. It was not just for entertainment, but this picture has a relationship with density because Gorillas are one of the largest animals. To make it easy for the audience to visualize how dense atoms are. The video producer uses FedEx box. This makes the audience more involve with the speaker because FedEx recognizable. Overall, the pictures in this video have persuasive feature.

In order to persuade the audience, this video uses many different sounds. The most common persuasive way that the video producer uses is that he makes makes the audience involve with his work. For example, he says "lets assume, you probably know, I bet you know, you might remember ... " Once the audience hears this preposition, they will pay more attention and get involve. Also asks questions like "how the size of grapefruit should be?". And repeat questions as well. In addition, once the producer talks about the empty space between the nucleus and the electrons, he uses wind sounds to represent the empty. Moreover, the producer uses the sounds as a way to entertain the audience, like using a bump sounds, when the guy says "if I don't blow you mind out", as well as using sleepy sounds while he says "I think I'm tired". Indeed, the funny tone with different sounds makes the video enjoyable.

Using easily understandable language is a perfect way that the producer of "Just How Small is an Atom" uses to persuade audience. By looking and listening carefully to the video, we can observe that the producer uses words that are familiar with people in daily conversations, even though the producer speaks about scientific subject which may have a lot of complicated details. For instance, he says "you may remember the picture of an atom on your science book" instead of saying you "may remember the nuclear model of the atom" or "you may remember the atomic view of Rutherford experiment". Also, the producer uses a simple grammar structure to avoid boring the audience, as they are more comfortable and familiar with a simple grammar structure, since it is commonly used. Moreover, it can be noted that the producer in this video uses words that have few syllable because the author knows that scientific topics can be complicated, so he tries to make it as simple as possible. One the other hand, the video producer tries to get the audience to trust in his information by showing his knowledge and credibility. For example, when he answers his own question about what is in between the nucleus and the electrons, the answer was empty space, but he adds "now, technically there are some electromagnetic field. Even though this information is not exactly related to the main point for the video, but the producer purpose was to make the audience be impressed by his knowledge, so they will trust his information and be persuaded about what he says. In addition, this example shows that the producer is prepared for counterargument. He knows that someone may doubt him since technically there is more than blank space. This way he is able to simplify his explanation, while also proving that he is a credible source of information, and knows a lot about atoms.

Due to the fact that appealing to emotions feature is a very powerful persuasive tool, the producer uses this tool many times to make a clear connection with the audience. For instance, He says it is not easy to visualize how small an atom is. When members of the audience who do not understand how small an atom is hear this, they will obviously be more comfortable and trusting because they realize the speaker understands their problem, and that he will help clarify any difficulties. The same thing happens when the speaker finishes his speech, by saying "I'm tired." This statement comforts the audience, and gives some hummer in order to put them at ease. Anothor smart way that the producer uses emotion to make a connection with the audience, is comparing how students have been taught about how small an atom is and how small it is in reality. The author creutes more emotional connections by saying that science books" he means the science books in school" are not drawn to scale, so he kind of justifies the mistake then straight after that he explains about what an atom actually looks like. Making this connection and then justifying it is a good idea to keep the audience listening to his point. If the producer shared his point immediately the audiences may not be as willing to listen to his idea. However, the producer was able to make this point more presuasive since he put instead of saying " you are wrong" he says " we have been taught wrongly", because if the producer admits that he was also confuced just like other about how small an atom is, it will make the audience even more interested in listening to his argument.

Another emotional appeal that the video producer uses is that he chooses bright full colors. For example, he uses the color yellow a lot, this color is associated with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Finally, converting the scientific units from one scale to another such as from kg/m^3 to lb/ft^3 is a great emotional appeal in order to help the audince understand the science better.

In sum, communication tools have been developing rapidly lately. Since videos are one of the best way to persuade the audience. This video succeeded in illustrating how small an atom is by using several photos, sounds. Also, the easy language and emotional appeal make the producer argument point clear.
