Being a computer scientist major at the University of South Carolina, I wanted to do more research on the subject. I wanted to go into the field of viewing the computer world differently than I previously have. The privacy issue that comes up is a rising issue that comes up daily in our modern world. The research question does not affect my values or views on the subject because the study of computer science brings much more advancement to the common people than fear or even the idea of privacy evasion. My personal experience on the subject is limited, however, I am aware of minor threat that he computer revolution comes with. I do not find any immediate issue with the current situation but I do find myself, rarely, considering the idea of either the government or a third party taking advantage of the flaws in the computer system. I am qualified to write about this subject because of my knowledge and previous experience on the idea. Also, I have done research and kept up with daily news on any potential problem that may arise in the field.

My first source goes into the issue that comes with the computer revolution and the threats that it could come with. The articles goes over the problems with privacy issues, government control, and even a little part on artificial intelligence. The writing targets the common people and how the evolution could harm the people. The writer targets the values of people such as their finances, children safety, and national safety. The idea challenges the people that work against the "cyber terrorist" that the public faces. Cyber security experts participate in this issue every day and some of the research found would question some of the researcher's studies. The creditability of the author is subpar. However, the author is a well-educated teacher that works at a prestige university. The writer has slight bias towards the negative side of the computer revolution. The author put emphasize on the bad aspects rather than focusing on the overall picture.

My second source states the steps that anyone can take to secure their personal computer. The idea shows how relaxed and easy it can be to prevent potential threats. Major evidence is slightly lacking in the article, however, it does show how simple and easy it is to make any personal computer safe and secure. The major values that the writing shows is the security of the common people. Microsoft, the author of my source, wants people who use their product to be secure whenever they are using a computer. The credibility of the author, Microsoft, is extremely high because of their previous record as a great computer experts and people. I would often not trust many people with my computer or laptop, however, if Microsoft was going to work on my PC, I would trust them completely. Microsoft is one of the very few companies that are known internationally as having a high credit. The bias in the writing is almost nonexistent. Microsoft only wants to give the common people their tools to be able to protect their computers. The writing is almost more instructions which makes bias hard to slide into the writing.

The main issue in today's technical and computer world is whether the government should have the right to collect and store some or all of the data that is filled out over the internet. Also, other government data collecting devices such as bugs. My last sources goes into the very real threats that many of the population could face. The writing has many values such as personal privacy and government control. The writer values his own computer and he wants people to realize the possible threats, even by using certain court cases of participants that contributed to that bad side of the computer revolution. The author is a very creditable source. He has written 24 books on some of the historically bad crises that have arose in the world such as the Cuban missile crisis or the nuclear arms race. The article has a slight bias towards the negative side. The writer of this piece likes to explore the big issues that face the world and what could be done to neutralize those situations. The writer is coming from a more "fix-it" background rather than a "make it better" background.

My research question is arguable because the computer revolution brings many parts, even some bad, so it is arguable for anyone to take a side on whether it has brought more progress or destruction. Many of my sources pointed out the big negative aspects that computers bring such as privacy evasion, government control, and even some Terminator type discussions. I understand where the other sources are coming from, however the different views do not affect my own view. My research question does not need to be revised.
