Throughout my entire life I have been interested in with the idea of immigration. If one turns on a debate, or a show about politics, odds are, the topic of immigration is discussed. The presidential debates always include the topic of immigration and I personally feel as though immigration is truly one of our more touching subject topics. Immigration can be tough to discuss due to the racial sensitivity and the vast amount of Americans who come from immigrant homes. The moral and political debates on immigration have little effect on my life. However, my views on immigration have everything to do with how I look at the rest of the world, especially those who have come from across the southern border of the United States to start their lives here. This has made me more sensitive to those effected by our borders. I have met people who did whatever it took to get into the States and they had their own reasons as to why. They never spoke a word of regret. These people always prided themselves in the fact that their better life is in America. But, does illegal immigration actually have a negative effect on the United States? I hope to evaluate this question by addressing illegal immigration's effects on the United States economy and people. I find that my own personal qualification to discuss this topic comes from my research and my obligation as an American citizen to stay informed on a topic that can have so much effect on our nation.

Illegal immigrants coming to the United States and working for lower salaries have lowered the wages for low income Americans. This fact comes from an article in The Wall Street Journal by writer Bob Davis, who covers economic issues for the newspaper. Lower Income households in the United States have found themselves on the same playing field as many illegal immigrants when considering job options. The job market is competitive and it is unfair for the American citizen to have to compete for a employment with someone who cannot rightfully have the employment. The author is clearly a credible source as he is an analyst from such an established media source, let one can tell there is conservative bias in his writings. His writings have conservative values and they strongly lean against immigration. However, the conservative bias is not enough as to it take away from the quality of information in the content. The article directly addresses the effect illegal immigration has had on lower income households in the United States gives me the necessary details to elaborate on the subject.

During the past year more than 95,000 illegal immigrants enrolled in United States schools. This statistic comes from a web article on Breitbart, a political news sight, that is rather independent written by Caroline May, who primarily writes on the topic of immigration. She is without a doubt an expert in the subject as she is a leading analyst on the subject of immigration, specifically immigration and politics. Immigrant students are overpopulating United States schools daily, which would be acceptable if it did not take resources away from our citizens and tax payers. The students have been coming into the United States far behind academically for their age and speaking little or no english. There is much more factual based information in this article, it reads more scholarly and less like a news article. This is an unfair pressure on the teaching force of America, making them meet needs of students that can not be met. There is bias against the immigrants, but with her conclusions, may gives the other side of the immigration argument. She does not sell it but the information is clear. This article is a good reference on the stress of illegal immigration on public resources.

The final article I found discusses California's new driver license laws for illegal immigrants. It comes from the news website of International Business Times and is written by Jackie Salo, their "breaking news analyst" who covers their major breaking stories. She may not be the most reliable journalist on the subject because she has not written on this subject a lot before, but she presents her argument well in her article. Her articles are very scholastically based. She is hoping to show that the school system needs help from the government for the illegal immigrant students flooding into the public school systems. The new law allows illegal immigrants, with no documentation, a chance to obtain a driver license. This has packed the system as well as given away a right of a United States citizen by permitting it so freely and easily. California is the tip of the spear when it comes to advancements for illegal immigrants. California holds the largest population of illegal aliens in the country. The article has very little bias and properly presents the information.

Is the landscape of illegal immigration in the United States changing? Yes, the illegal immigrants are changing, the borders are changing, and their interactions are beginning to differ. The drug cartel has spiked immigration from South America in addition to the immigrants already coming from Mexico. This argument has many angles to it and many different ways of approaching it, but it can be well argued. There is a mass amount of variety in the discussion of immigration. People have so many different opinions based on political preferences, regions of the United States and their upbringing. Most articles agree that the population surge in the south has come from immigration. However, not every article is in agreement on the government's strains by the influx in immigration. I am a independent thinker but a conservative voter. This research has helped me accept latino immigrants and other immigrants better because I have learned what these immigrants go through just to be able to have a chance at my way of life. It is a beautiful thing to think that my way of life is a dream to someone, and to many immigrants, they would love to have a chance at life like I have had. I need to find more depth. Hopefully, this will inspire my exigence to be more specific.
