It angers me that we live in a place that comes up with excuses as to why it is okay to kill of people of our own kind. There are many other alternates as to what can happen to these criminals, and often times, being sentenced to a life in person is more of a consequence than being put to death and not having to live with that guilt. This affects my values because my values are based off of my religion and Christianity goes against the death penalty. Most attempts to make a biblical case for the support of capital punishment are primarily based on the Old Testament, and that is a poor way to do because as Christians we are part of the New Testament Church, not ancient Israel. Also, Jesus teaches that it is better to show mercy and compassion. The practice of the death penalty in America is wrongly used and applied because of a few things such as race, wealth, age and many other background information. I personally do not have any experience regarding this that has influence my life in a personal way, but I have heard and researched cases that show me that is does personally influence people's life who are just like me. I am qualified to write on the topic if I do my research thoroughly on other side of the argument.

Three Sources

Source one

The death penalty is wrong because how can you identify one case as a "soft crime" and the other as one that should be put to consequence with the death penalty. There is no way to remedy the occasional mistake, meaning that if someone is put to death of a murder they did not commit, there is nothing that can be done about it. There is discrimination on victims sentenced to the death penalty. For similar crimes, some are sentences to death while others are not... Who's the judge? There is a strong bias in this sources because it is evident that this author is a conservative because he often only talks down upon the liberals.

Source two

The death penalty is something that is considered a good thing because it has decreased the number of murders just by a small number of executions. Although many Americans are for the death penalty, many are also beginning to have second thoughts as the liberal's march ahead with their never ending crusade against morality, freedom and justice. A few reasons the death penalty should be supported is because, it honors God, it is a deterrent to crime, and it is also something that is good of the environment. I believe that this author is extremely bias because they only hit the side that is conflicting the death penalty very hard and has no counter argument anti the death penalty.

Source three

The death penalty is cruel, inhuman and degrading. Some countries execute criminal's wo were under 18 years old while others use it against people who have mental problems. This source is an organization that is working to end the death penalty everywhere. The death penalty is a denial of human rights, irreversible, does not deter crime, sometimes used with a skewed justice system, it often discriminates and can also be used as a political tool. I feel that this cite hold a lot of credibility because instead of just hitting the topics hard with facts against the death penalty, it gives facts about the death penalty and also talks for and against it, although the primary argument is anti the death penalty.

Logistical Analysis

There there are many facts and statements that are for and against the statement. Both sides are heavy on information that could argue either side. Arguments are that there is a higher cost having more criminals in jail and it proves closer for the victims. Disagreements are innocent people are put on death row, discrimination and it teaches the condemned nothing. Each of these different perspectives gives me more insight on what I believe or each informs me of what the other side believes in. I think that my Research Exigence is a broad enough question to address in 2,500 words but if I find this hard to accomplish I can state the question in a different way to find more feedback.
