As I turn on the TV I see Trump, I check twitter and I see Trump, I look at Facebook, more Trump. Seems I cannot escape the man's campaign. Trump has been the talk of the nation ever since he threw his hat into the ring. In previous years Trump has somewhat jokingly said he would run for president but this year he has stuck to his word and joined the politics of America. In Trump's first couple months of campaigning, controversy struck the nation with Trump's plans for America. Such plans include building a great wall to keep out illegal aliens and putting wristbands on Muslims to identify them. I have seen newscasters discuss him and how he has gained so much support for these ideas. Most citizens cannot believe the support that has grown behind Donald Trump's campaign because of his racist remarks and his "believed" hatred toward others being blown out of proportion from the media. Being that Trump has experienced a good amount of opposition there are people who have figured out his growing popularity.

Jeff Guo, a columnist, who wrote "The Real Reasons Donald Trump's so Popular", Guo's article seeks to explain Trump's popularity. One of Guo's examples is that Trump gives simple answers to tough problems, like building a wall to keep out illegal immigrants or enforcing the death penalty on those who kill cops, to protect officers of the law. If these suggestion were made by any other candidate it be political suicide, but the way Trump gets his idea across makes them sound right. Guo explains that Trump with his confidence and charisma that he can make any idea sound right. Trump's simple ideas make people relate to him more than a politician can for they have complicated ideas, ""People like the idea that deep down, the world is simple; that they can grasp it and that politicians can't," John Hibbing, a psychologist at the University of Nebraska". (Guo) Another example Guo points out is Trump says stuff that other politicians are afraid to say. Trump says what he wants and doesn't receive backlash like most other candidates would. He has this charisma that entices whoever is watching. Guo says that he may have learned this charisma from his reality TV show that kept the viewers from changing the channel.

My second source is from The Telegraph a publication based in the United Kingdom. Ruth Sherlock, a United States editor of the website, wrote the article "Why is Donald Trump so popular". She states that Trump is popular because of his assertion on the topics that most candidates sweep under the rug. She covers Trump's plan for illegal immigrants and the type of people who support him. Ruth asserts that Trump's support comes from Republicans and people of the middle working class. She also adds that Trump's outrageous bigotry brings in tons of support from the right winged Republicans and through his campaign he has gotten more and more offensive and racist. Trump's supporters' love the acquisitions on "Black lives matter" protests are disgusting, Mexicans are rapists, and that Muslims should be banned from entering the country. Supporters say that he is the voice that speaks up for America.

The third resource comes from npr.org written by Danielle Kurtzleben entitled "Surprised About Donald Trump's Popularity? You Shouldn't Be". Kurtzleben explains how Trump's plan for Muslims is liked and agreed with most GOP, American citizens, and few democrats. Islamic terrorists have waged war against American values and the American people are frightened by Muslims and Trump has taken a stand against them. Another point Kurtzleben explains is that citizens like Trump for he is an outsider. The people want change and the same electing of politicians is not benefitting America. Trump being an extremely successful businessman, which has made him a billionaire and also a celebrity has gained him supporters form the start of his campaign.

After reading my three informing sources I have come to an understanding of why the people of the United States of America love Trump so much. He speaks the truth when no one will; he doesn't take no for an answer. He is the top dog of the candidacy. I need more interesting resources to support on why Trump would not be a good president or his campaign strategy is going will be his downfall. Some sources on how Trump could be the worst president to ever be elected. I now feel that Trump has a strong support group that could raise his popularity to bring him to the White House.
