Pollution is the insertion of harmful contaminants into air, water or soil. This is a serious problem that has slowly integrated itself into our everyday lives. It has become a regular part of our day to the point where we don't even realize that it is happening. We see trash on the sidewalk so often that we just ignore it instead of taking a second to throw it away. Pollution has become a common part of our lives and must be controlled. There is no way to completely stop pollution, at least not in our generation but it can be slowed down. A few ways to contain pollution are to recycle products, throw away your trash and make other people aware of how serious pollution is.

I am interested in this research topic because it is a very important issue that is causing problems for people in today's society. The issue of pollution not only effects me but everyone and everything that lives on the earth. My personal experience is seeing trash on the ground everywhere I go and there being nothing done about it. I am qualified to write about this because I have done my research and am now very learned about the subject.

Starting to slow pollution down can be as easy as getting a recycling bin, all it takes is a local call to your trash company and one will be delivered. Recycling isn't hard and only takes a few extra seconds out of your day. By doing this you are slowly helping to save our planet which is our home. According to a blog post written by Priyavrat Sharma, some steps to help control pollution are "recycling and reusing the products that can be used a few times so that the waste produced from them does not deplete the environment". So as you can see by the statement it is fundamental for people to recycle in order to help reduce pollution. She is a very credible source that keeps and up to date blog.

By simply throwing away your trash and not littering you are helping the environment one step at a time. It is unbelievable how many people litter, whether it's a small thing such as a cigarette butt or something large such as a fast food bag, it is still littering and still causing harm to the environment. This huge issue can easily be controlled, by simply throwing away your trash. Not only does throwing away trash help the environment but it also helps to protect wildlife. Animals do not realize that the trash they find on the ground could potentially be harmful to them. There are many wildlife centers that rescue animals that have been harmed by litter. According to Robeta Barbalace a writer for Environmental Chemistry, some ways you can help reduce littering are, when throwing away trash make sure it is discarded in an animal proof container, cut up plastic and other harmful items that animals can ingest or get stuck in and get involved in your community and help clean up. The claim here is that it is very simple to help the environment. Just a few extra minutes out of the day can help. She is a very good and credible writer that has good credible sources. There are many volunteer groups and other ways to help out in your community. All it takes is a couple hours a week to walk around and pick up some trash. Even the smallest gesture can help to clean up the environment.

In a way pollution has always been a serious problem but has not started to cause harm to the environment and humans until recently. Many pollutants in the air contain carcinogens; these poisons that people breathe in make them more at risk for catching diseases and other life threatening problems. According to an article written by Bethany Wienan, a learned writer, a study conducted in 1995 showed a link between air pollution and increased death from cardiovascular and respiratory complications. We are not the only ones affected by pollution; animals and plants are being exposed to the pollution that we are putting into our earth. The claim of this article is that humans are not the only ones affected by pollution and that every little thing you do that helps to contribute to pollution harms us. Pollution also causes health problems that can be very detrimental.

Again, A few ways to contain pollution are to recycle products, throw away your trash and make other people aware of how serious pollution is. If everyone participates in helping to clean up the environment then we can slowly control and hopefully reduce pollution.

My research question is arguable because some people don't agree that pollution is harming the planet. There aren't many different perspectives amount people simply because pollution is either bad or it isn't. I could improve my research topic and make it a bit more controversial.
