I am interested in this research question because I believe feminists around the world have been given a bad name due to the large negative attention which has been given to radical, extremist feminists. While extremist radicals of feminism do exist, so do radical male supremacists and misogynists. If the media started portraying more individuals within the spectrum instead of either of these two extremes, feminism would not have such a strong negative connotation to people. The mass media portrayal of feminists as only the radical type truly takes away from the true meaning of feminism and how it relates to more than just women's rights, but men's rights as well. This research question is something I have become very interested in over the years due to my sister being such a large feminist and voicing her opinions around me for years. I strongly believe there is much merit in my sister's feminist belief that feminism is about more than just purely equality for women. While feminism originated on wanting equal rights and opportunity for women, feminism has evolved along with society to fight for more than just women, but for men's rights as well. For example, advertising companies target men just as much as they do women in order to make them feel insecure so they will purchase various items. Feminists realize this and fight for changes to be made in favor of both men and women in this instance. Being a woman myself, I believe I am qualified to write about this by taking personal experiences and observations throughout my life, along with outside sources, experiences, and observations in order to cover the topic well with a personal touch.

The main idea of this article is that basic first-wave, purely pushing for women's rights alone feminism is becoming ridiculed and, therefore, dying away. In order to continue to make progress instead of enemies to fight for feminism, feminism needs to be handed down to and taken control of by the younger wave of feminists who believe in social justice for men and women as opposed to only women. The major values of the article are that the article precisely addresses the topic of feminism evolving with the younger, upcoming wave of feminists. These feminists care about more than just advances for women, but also advances for men and other groups regarding race and culture. I believe the article is very credible, but it does contain a good bit of bias because it is likely coming from a feminist. The author makes countless quotes from important, relating individuals in order to further dive into her point. She also thoroughly covers her topic while referencing many organizations and events relating to feminism and her point.

In the article, "Feminism Has Benefited Men", Nicci French explains how in recent years, the job market has made the transition between having many physical labor jobs to jobs more centered around desk jobs and information knowledge. As an effect of this, women are taking over the work force. With men out of the usual providing, money making jobs, they now have the freedom to do whatever they wish to do, not having to be burdened with finding the stereotypical "man job". The major values to take from the article are that the article directly addresses advances made by feminism. Along with addressing advances made, the article also addresses how feminism is beneficial to men, although most men when asked about feminism will say they are not feminists and possibly are against the movement. The article was written by a husband and wife together under one surname. I believe the article has credibility due to the article having a woman's beliefs towards feminism, as well as a man's beliefs towards feminism combined together. While chances are there are a never-ending amount of articles, books, etc. written by women on feminism, the strong majority which advocate for feminism are not written by men.

The main idea of this article is how feminism is about more than just achieving equality specifically and only for women. Feminism is about creating equality for both genders and can be accomplished through things such as stopping stereotypical gender roles. This equality is for men and women and can only be achieved through the help of both genders, not purely just women. The major values of this article are its attention to feminism as more than just fighting for equal rights for only women. The article advocates for feminism and how more men should be supportive and advocating for feminism and what feminism's true goal is, which is to create equality men as well as women. The author of the speech in the article is the goodwill ambassador for a United Nations organization specifically for women, giving plenty of credibility. The speech was given more recently and specifically was to target males to join a United Nations Women campaign to advocate for feminism and its goals.

The research question is arguable because not everyone believes, or has even thought of the possibility, that feminism is more than merely a bunch of man-hating women advocating for only women's rights. Some agreements among the sources I have found include how feminism should be about more than simply equality for women, but more so that feminism should be about equality for both genders and recognizes that feminism affects both genders. My sources all came from likely feminists, which puts a strong bias on the information in the articles for feminism leading the reader to likely agree on the feminist side, especially if a female reader.
