In today's day and age, there consists of a mass amount of argumentative issues that have been at rise in the public eye, but there is one particular topic that has profoundly made its way in out weighing the majority with this being the high concern around sexual assault in the United States. The rise in sexual assault awareness within the United States has contributed to a movement that has placed an effect on many sectors, for instance our government, the criminal justice system, college campuses, and even political stances/views to a certain extent. This essay will offer a different perspective on sexual assault cases that will reveal why and how a particular sector of these cases are overlooked by the bulk of population and the elaboration of this sector is rarely presented to the public eye, false accusations/ reports. False accusation/ reports are considered to be a fine narrow line found within sexual assault cases, which could play a major effect on how sexual assault are handled and even in the final outcome of a possible case. This outcome can happen to either sex, males or females, where the innocent are condemned as guilty through either being accused of sexual assault or disbelief by law enforcement when reporting. Even though Title IX is in place to protect individuals from discrimination due to sex, there are misconceptions in interpreting the amendment that have an effect on allowing gender neutrality to be redundant through sexualizing in sexual assault and/or rape cases. People who are affected by either being falsely accused or was accused of making a false report are also prone to consequences that are placed upon them from societal interactions and the occurrence of negative psychology effect they may face when knowing they are innocent when charged or assumed as guilty. False accusation/ reports may or may not have the opportunity to achieve the justice needed to prove their innocence, which is why there needs to be more enforcement upon gender neutrality and change bylaws to limit sexualizing when presented a sexual assault. To reveal how this narrow line of false accusation/ reports in sexual assault cases is overlooked and in need of change is through police and case officer's initial intentions or thoughts when entering a case, how the Title IX misinterpretations effect cases as a whole, and presenting the impact that those falsely accused or accused of false reporting encounter from the consequences and the negative psychological effects that take place in and outside the criminal justice system.

The Criminal justice systems is in place to provide justice for the people of the United States of America to ensure maximum safety to all citizen. Just like the criminal justice system, police, case officers, and other forms of security are set up to provide protection and aid to those whom may be in danger. It is their optimum responsibility and duty to respond and look after society at all times, no matter who, what, when, where, and why. In addition to this, it is important that they must also investigate cases thoroughly and justly without using favor, unless evidence proves else wise in conclusion to a case. Therefore, it is understandable and common sense that police and case officers will take any action needed to provide justice for any case given. Then why are they associated with contributing towards false accusations/ reports when handling sexual assault cases? In false accusation/ reports of sexual assault cases, police and case officers provide a vital role in which to decide if a case is worthy of being a case carried out or rejected. To demonstrate deeper into how definitions and perceptions on sexual assault cases by police force contributes to false accusations/ reports is through a schema study that was performed on a police department in the Great Lakes region of the United States. This particular study comes from the peer review journal of Rachel M. Venema, "Police Officer Schema of Sexual Assault Reports: Real Rape, Ambiguous Cases and False Reports", uses the schema theory which states "A schema is the cognitive framework that helps organize and interpret information (Brewer & Nakamura, 1984)" (Venema 877).

Title IX was introduced as a law in 1972 under the U.S. Department of Education's Civil Rights Officers during the Nixon administration and given the name Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972. Under this amendment, the U.S. Department of Education justifies its importance by stating, "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under Federal financial assistance" (Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972), implicating that Title IX should be considered gender neutral.

Conclusion: . The narrow line in sexual assault cases of false accusation/ reporting causes those who are innocent to be deemed as guilty, which makes the roles reverse making those accused wrongly the actual victims of the cases. To eliminate this rise in discrimination of sex, to prevent false accusations/ reports when entering a sexual assault cases the possible flaws where gender neutrality is altered needs to be addressed from previous cases in the viewpoints of both males and females along with oppositional arguments to strengthen the credibility for this argument. Gender neutrality in sexual assault cases is often minimal in the criminal justice system creating sexualizing to favor one party over another, which this alteration is established through a case officer's initial intentions or thoughts when entering a case, how the Title IX misinterpretations effect cases as a whole, and presenting the impact that those falsely accused or accused of false reporting encounter from the consequences and the negative psychological effects that take place in and outside the criminal justice system.
