The topic of how social media affects young adults worldwide mental health catches my interest because I am currently growing up in the age of technology. Technology is of relevance because these different devices such as computers, cell phones, and tablets. Allows the new generation to have constant access to social media sites like facebook, twitter, and instagram. This research question does not affect my moral values in any way however I do have experience on the subject. Living in an age of technology once something is posted on the internet everyone and anyone is able to see the post. This being the case I have witnessed posts of people getting bullied online. And like many others I know one year I witnessed a video on youtube of someone who had recently commit suicide telling their story before the tragic event happened. I can be considered an authority figure on this subject because once you have witness seeing a video like that where the girl committed suicide. Why watching you take in every word the she says and connect with her and feel the pain through her words. And personally see how cyber bullying through social media can affect a person mentally and physically. Being a young adult I am obsessed with constantly being social and engaged in conversation with my peers, so my phone is always within reaching distance. Which makes it easier to access all of my social media accounts via cellar device .

"What are the negative effects of using social media on young adolescents health?" Is an arguable question many sites states that social media has only negative effects on teens mental state and no benefits are present. Whereas others may agree that it has negative effects but is also beneficial to teens. All of the sources I have found agree that there are negative effects of social media on mental health. Such as depression, anxiety, and teens at risk for suicide. Some of these sources list negative affects but also positive effects that social media can have on the user's. Positive effects of social media includes support from peers, help hotlines, and ability to express oneself in various creative ways. Like blogs and youtube channels. This does not affect my research question. Although seeing these positive effects social media has can allow the reader to open their eyes to the fact that these sites may be apart of the problem, but they can also play a huge part of being the solution.
