Let's think for a moment about the word plastic means? According to Thomas he says "by referring it to the Greek origin, the word Plastic means, to form or to mold, in other words, to change"(9). Nowadays plastic surgery is an important thing that is happening in a lot of lives, since it's no longer only for rich and famous people. People are altering their appearance by doing plastic surgeries. According to Marja, she states in her article that people do surgeries either for a change and to look good, or to fix any problem they had in their body's result of accidents, wars, or any kind of an argent medical issue, which encourage them to do plastic surgeries in their bodies. Plastic surgeries are categorized as reconstructive and cosmetic, thus, the reasons of the surgeries differ according to their types. Society today has been brainwashed by the advertisement they see on televisions and Internet. It's not only women who are effected today, but also men believe that in order for a person to look beautiful they must look like the images seen on television, in movies and on the cover of magazines. Hence, people nowadays are using plastic surgeries for the wrong reasons without looking forward at the risks they might face. Is changing a person appearance worth the risks? Many people believe that a change in their bodies or face every now and then is necessary, thus, they do plastic surgeries only to keep up with the natural changes that happens on our lives. On the other hand, some people argue that their lives are more worthy instead of having a change that might risk their lives or appearance, however, they agree on doing plastic surgeries in one case, only if it was a reconstructive surgery. I totally agree with those who believe that in some cases, plastic surgery does help individuals. Especially if it was done for things like skin grafts on burn victims, or the correcting of an abnormal feature on the human body. These things help people feel more normal. This is how plastic surgery was first used. Then people started to use plastic surgery, not to look merely normal, but to look perfect, which I believe that the plastic surgery is a wrong option in this case. People lives are more worthy than doing a plastic surgery for a change, because plastic surgeries might cause many risks such as, psychosocial effect. Especially after getting unexpected results after the surgery. Also, people have one body, and once a person he/she changes it through plastic surgeries, things will never really be the same again, and they won't be able to change it like it used to be if they were unhappy with the result. There are several reasons that make the plastic surgeries a bad thing to be done. Such as, it's pricey. People pays big amounts only to change their appearance without considering that not all plastic surgeries are permanent Things like breast implants aren't forever. Every person needs to show his/her true colors and not hide behind a mask or plastic. Another reason that makes me believe that plastic surgery is a bad thing to do, is years later after any plastic surgery the person will face the later side effects, which will make the person suffers more than he/she thought. People then will recognize that the plastic surgery would not fix them perfectly. Moreover, by doing one plastic surgery it will eventually lead the person to do more and more to reach the perfection level they wish, which is impossible to happen because they'll never accept any result they got.

First of all, plastic surgeries as a result of accidents are always considered as reconstructive plastic surgeries, because people are forced to do them as a result of workplace mishaps, lab experiments gone wrong, and car wrecks. In addition, plastic surgery as result of cancer is a reconstructive surgery, because breast augmentation surgery is common among women who have had a mastectomy. Khunger says in his article that procedure of breast cancer is not necessary as many specialists think, however, it helps to reduce the psychological affect. Moreover, birth defects and birthmarks such as ear deformities can cause physical and emotional handicaps. Reconstructive surgeries are often done to correct birth defects and restore the normal appearance of a person who has undergone some kind of physical trauma.

So, I totally agree with those that support doing plastic surgeries in one case, only if it was a reconstructive surgery because it's important to fix and plastic surgeries are made to those category of people. However, if those reconstructive surgeries can cause some risks to the patient lives than it's not essential to do it. As Khunger says "doctor and patient relationship has to be trustworthy" (123). For instance, my friend had a car accident and he had a noticeable deformity on his face, so his family and I encouraged him to have a plastic surgery to fix this problem. He decided to do it, but the doctor told him it might result in unsuccessful surgery. Hence, he decided to accept how he looks in order to avoid the risk that might result from having the plastic surgery. So the moral of the story, is that every doctor must have specific ethics they should follow with their patient, for instance, the doctor should tell the patient about the risks he/she might face, in other words, the side effects of a surgeries. Moreover, the patient should be informed before doing a plastic surgery to reduce any psychological effects that can happen to the patient after the unexpected outcomes he/she get from doing a reconstructive plastic surgery because the psychological effect is not an easy thing to get over it and not every person strong enough to face the result they get from the plastic surgery.

Thus, this type of people who believes that plastic surgeries are not worth the risks and plastic surgeries should be done only for an important issue, they aim to encourage people to be balanced in their decision and the expected result they get from the plastic surgeries. Moreover, doctors should not do surgeries as a business, but only to help people to fix the damages to their body and face only if it was essential. Thus, being honest with their patient is one of the important ethics that every doctor should have. Also, unnecessary plastic surgeries should not to be done and when people's lives will be put at risks. Even if it no need to be done and it has risks then it still counts as unworthy surgeries and it's better not to do it. According to an article "Ethics in Aesthetic Surgery: Rituals and Realities", it emphasizes that whatever the reason, a person should be careful with her/his option, realize that any surgery could risks, and that the results may cause bigger problem instead of fixing it. Also, it's important to know and have an enough knowledge about the effects that might happen from the plastic surgery before deciding to do it without looking forward to what it can result.

On the other hand, another group of people believe that changing their bodies or face every now and then is necessary and to keep updated with current life. Those kind of people do cosmetic surgeries that are related to their self-esteem, self-image and weight loss, and their main goal of doing those types of plastic surgeries is to change their appearance, instead of fixing a real problem, which are the reasons for reconstructive surgery. Moreover, those groups of people never look to the risks they might face and they think that plastic surgeries are worth the risks since it helps them to look different and change their appearance every now and then. According to the article" All I Want for Christmas Is a Brand-New Face" it says that many cases have been reported of deaths as a result of cosmetic surgical procedures. Yet, many people are still dragged into the lure of looking beautiful. They don't care about the price they have to pay and the risks they might face by doing plastic surgeries. Many people believe that to be happy in life and be beautiful to all that see them, they must have the beautiful bodies like the models and the famous people they see on television.

As Rebecca says "Average national costs of popular plastic surgery procedures are between $4,075 up to $11,000" (13). Plastic surgeries costs increase a lot because it become as a business for some doctors to get their income from. People pay a huge amount of money without thinking. The only thing they think about is to change their appearance because they have a lack of self-esteem. Zhao says, "With deeper pockets and enhanced awareness, there will be more room for the industry to grow "(40). It means that plastic surgery has become as an industry nowadays because of those people who spent their money without thinking and get encouragement from the advertisement and untrusted views of people about surgeries, which will increase doing plastic surgery even if a person he/she don't need to do it. I believe this is a reckless behavior because those type of people are wasting their money on a surgery that might gives them a bad result, which will effect their self-esteem more instead of building it because every person have one body thus one chance to change their appearance. So if things wind up poorly, chances are, a person he/she might be even unhappier than they were to start with There are many different way for those people who have a lack of self-esteem to build their self-esteem cheaper and without any bad effects. For instance, they can do exercise to shape their bodies as they wish. Also, by taking different types of vitamins, it helps to improve their skin and face appearance. Vitamins reduce the appearance of brown spots and other types of damages. As well as eating healthy food can improve person appearance. Those are some of the cheaper ways to help a person to build her/his self-esteem without costing them a lot compared to the plastic surgeries.

However, I totally disagree with those group of people who believes that plastic surgeries are necessary for a change and it's worth the risks because they have superficial thinking instead of maintain their health grace without doing plastic surgeries only because to change their appearance. Advertisement plays a big role in encouraging people to do plastic surgeries without thinking if it's worth the risks or not because as we see nowadays the advertisement never talks about the disadvantages of plastic surgeries and never indicate any of the risks that might face the patient after doing an unnecessary cosmetic surgery. However, I believe that people can ignore what the media are advertising if they really have self-confidence, because everybody knows that the media never shows the truth and their main goal is to attract people attention to a specific thing, such as, doing plastic surgeries. As it's noticeable that the media never talks about the bad effects that people might face from doing plastic surgery, which prove that most of the advertisements are only a way of attraction no matter how bad is the surgery. Therefore, a person with a lack of self-confidence and esteem always believe and follow the advertisements without thinking rationally. On the other hand, people who have self-confidence and esteem are less affected by the advertisement they see. Moreover, if a person accepts the way he looks and treats his/her self well they can ignore any alluring advertisement easily because they believe in themselves and convinced that the beauty of the soul is much important than their appearance.

Nowadays, people can change their appearance in many different way, for example, by doing sports to lose weight and by putting natural powders, and creams on their face and bodies to be younger then they look instead of doing surgeries. Moreover, accepting the fact that every person should be nice from inside more than the appearance in every society it will help to reduce doing plastic surgeries. Also if this group of society believe that plastic surgeries is not worth the risks it may change their thinking of doing it as a change because it's definitely unworthy.

In conclusion, do we still think that plastic surgeries worth the risks? Since this side of plastic surgeries are always hidden. If it was worth the risks than the advertisements would show people about the risks instead of hiding them. Plastic surgeries are good to be done only for an important reasons and once a person might face risks than it's better not to be done because it's definitely unworthy for a person to lose his/her life for a change. People should accept the fact that how a person look inside is much important than the face and body appearance, because plastic surgeries are bad for several reasons. It's costs a lot, it might effect person's mental health because of the wrong result a person might get. Therefore, it's always better to be far from plastic surgeries because it has many bad effects more than people could imagine. So every person should accept how he/she looks and get over their suffer without doing surgeries because after doing a surgery they might be unhappy with the results, which will eventually leads them to suffer more than they did before doing any kind of plastic surgeries. Thus, if a person started to Challenge his/her Negative Thoughts they will be able to get over the idea of doing any kind of plastic surgeries for a change. Also, by believing that a person's worth is not determined by their looks.
