What are the psychological effects of plastic surgeries? Plastic surgery is important thing that is happening a lot in our lives, since it's not only for rich and famous people. People are altering their appearance by doing plastic surgeries. According to different articles, plastic means to form or to mold, in other words, to change. Therefore, they've used the word "plastic" for the surgeries that are related in changing people look, by referring it to it's Greek origin. Plastic surgeries could be categorized into reconstructive and cosmetic. Thus, the reasons of surgeries differ according to their types.

First of all, Accidents is always considered as reconstructive plastic surgeries, because people are forced to do them regarding workplace mishaps, lab experiments gone wrong, and Car wrecks. Also, cancer is a reconstructive surgery, because breast cancer surgery is common among women who have done a mastectomy. Although the procedure is not important as many medical specialties think, however, it helps to reduce psychological affect. In addition, Birth defects and birthmarks ear deformities can cause physical and emotional handicaps. Reconstructive surgery -- are often done as the person grows to correct birth defects and restores normal looking of a person. In the other hand, issue such as, Self-esteem, Self-image and weight loss are cosmetic plastic surgeries that the main goal of doing them is to change themselves, instead of fixing a real problem such as the reasons of reconstructive surgeries.

Secondly, plastic surgeries has increased nowadays, therefore, It's really important to know and to understand the affects that might happen from the plastic surgeries, and just keep them for necessary issues. As a personal view I totally disagree with those people who does plastic surgeries just for a change because they want to look like a celebrity, or to make her/his partner happy, and many other unnecessary reasons. Whatever the reasons, a person should be careful with her/his options, realize that any surgery could have risks, and that the results may cause bigger problem instead of fixing it. I might not be a qualified person to write about this topic. However, I think what makes me able to write about this question, is that I've heard and know several real stories, which happened for people after their plastic surgeries, either good or bad, which lead to psychological effects on people. However, this research's I've done about plastic surgeries has changed some of my values regarding the stories I've read about people real experience and it open my eyes on different important things I have to realize before being bias on one side, which is plastic surgeries does have psychological effects.

According to the three articles I've found, all of them talks about the cosmetic surgeries, and it shows how it differ from a patient to another. Not all patient thinks that plastic surgeries cause psychiatric issues. In the other hand, other patient believes that wrong plastic surgeries are the biggest reason of increasing the psychiatric issues. Also, those three articles shows the reasons that motivate patient are to do plastic surgeries. In addition, the three articles, includes an accurate evolution on patients understanding on plastic surgery risk, benefits, and results before doing the surgeries, which sometimes the reason that increase the psychiatric issues. The authors of those articles, which I read, are very credible but not bias. They talked about the issue by addressing the advantages and the disadvantages of plastic surgeries, but they weren't bias to one aspect more than the other.

The research question of "what are the psychological effects of plastic surgeries?" is really a perfect question to be argued because some people believe that plastic surgeries is a reason of a psychological issues and by having a wrong surgery it could cause a psychological effect on a person feeling as well. In the other hand, others do not relate the psychological effects to the wrong results of plastic surgery. Thus, it lead those people to do plastic surgery. In other words, those people believe that doing plastic surgery has no relation to the psychological part of their lives and it doesn't affect it. Thus, that makes this question very argumentative. However, I would like to go more in depth about the plastic surgeries psychological issue and find how it effect people, know more stories about it. Moreover, to focus on one part of plastic surgeries, either on people's body or face.
