Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. A variety of biological, psychological, religious and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. ( dictionary). Happiness can be accomplishment from doing the things you love to do not only for yourself and for others. In the world we live in doing the things require money. Matter fact, everything requires money. Happiness in this time is no longer a feeling you get when you wake up and the sun is shining; happiness now is dependent on materialistic properties. So therefore, money can lead to your ability to buy things that make you happy. People aspire to have large houses, fancy clothes, and aspire to give extravagant gifts to their loved ones in hopes of achieving happiness. 

The logarithmic function was steeper for quality of life than for happiness, indicating that income is linked more strongly to people's evaluations of their life than to their happiness. Analyses also indicated that the income well-being association was strongest for people earning below the median (NZ$ 65,000) and tended to plateau for people in the upper quartile (NZ$ 125,000). "This association was also logarithmic, and income was more predictive of reductions in stress for those earning below the median. 

"The most satisfying way of using money is to invest it in others." Giving to others and being able to afford to give other people the things that person may want but cannot afford sheds happiness into the world. You hear rappers rapping about how they can give their mothers and other family and friends thing they never had but always wanted and that makes them happy. 

People believe that you cannot give to others without having to buy them something. So that then makes money a requirement for happiness. About two years ago, my friend and I with the support from our parents used money to buy books and clothes for a village in Africa. When we donated the goods to the kids, you could see the joy from their faces. It made them happy, and it made us happy as well. Bill gates is an American Philanthropist. He and his wife are the Founders of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. They donate over a total of 20 billion dollars to different charities a year. In the Article written by Neil Tweedie,  Bill gates indicates that donating and helping charities with his money is what makes him happy. Doing things for other people can also retain happiness. 

The movie the pursuit of happiness is a prime example of how money is the root of happiness. The wife became unhappy with her life and the fact that the money she was earning was not good enough so she left to be on her own so 

When you have money, you don't have to worry about anything. Your life will be easier. You won't have to sit around all day stressing about bills or school fees etc. Having more money can cause one to be less stressed. Those who struggle to pay their bills etc, tend to be way more stressed than others. For example in  Tyler Perry's movie "Good Deeds", Thandie Newton who was portrayed as Lindsey in the movie, was not wealthy and she was living in her car with her son. She was stressed everyday because she didn't have a way to feed her son. She was working several jobs that she hated, to help support her son. Once she met Weseley Deeds, her life changed. She and her son were able to do things they have never experienced. He helped pay her bills, and gave them shelter and food. 

Me personally, when I have money I'm happy. Once I get that direct deposit on thursday night, I get excited and go online shopping. I believe money makes young adults more happy than older people because they don't really know how to control their spending.  We're young, we just go out and buy everything. If you look at older people, they know how to manage their money well. Now that new technology is coming out and new video games, us young adults crave those new gadgets. I get the new iphone every time it comes out. It's crazy how in today's society a new pair of shoes or a new tablet can bring happiness to a person. .

In conclusion,  money can lead to your ability to buy things that make you happy. If you spend your money correctly, you'll live in a world of pleasure. Making money all starts from hard work. It's impossible to just wake up and be filthy rich, unless you win the lottery. Success leads to money, and money leads to happiness. Money brings a balance to life, and leads to less stress.
