The world of a college campus can be a big and scary world. The life of each college student is unknown and unpredictable within each day. At any moment, happiness could become a student while in the very next moment tragedy could befall them. The former is also true for any given individual. How can anyone know which experience is right around the corner for them? How can they know if the next experience in their life will be exponentially good or detrimentally bad? And if that experience will be their last? The point is that no one knows their future and when the factor of a college campus is put into the equation even more outcomes become prevalent. The dangers that could change the life indefinitely such as sexual assault, one of the most terrifying and violent of crimes for the individual. Also one of the hardest crimes of the body to recover from. Students should be mentally and physically educated, the protocols for report should be strict and the schools should take full responsibility for any and everything involving sexual assault committed upon their students. Isn't it our responsibility to keep our students safe and well educated mentally and physically about the dangers around them?

This research topic is amongst one of the most important a prevalent considering events on the University of South Carolina, the campus we all call home. I believe that this topic effects every single individual because this crime of the body could potentially happen to any individual, male or female, at any time. The mental recovery from an assault of this nature is extremely long and often one of the most difficult. College students should be forced to learn about the Who, What's and Why's regarding sexual assault in detail. As a young female in college, I personally would like to be more prepared by my university than I have previously been on the details of this offense and what to do in a situation. I also believe that many of the women in this university would feel the same. As a student on a large university these concerns give me a special point of view that many others may not see.

In the article, 'Never Go out Alone': An Analysis of College Rape Prevention Tips, many valid points were addressed that provide evidence for the research question. This article is one of only a few that actually researches the physical educations individual universities give to their students. Many studies have not done this because they don't see it as a factor of prevention when in reality it is the key to stopping the assault before it starts. Rape education will in fact make students know all aspects of this crime and will help individuals be prepared if the event becomes a real life action. This article also researches the specific tips the colleges give to the student, assessing their individual validity and usefulness to fullest extent. The article helps to provide a wide scope on the topic while giving tactics to assess it. This also gives the audience a new perspective to consider. The article helps to concur the fact that our youth are not prepared in dangerous situations because their education on this topic is malformed and stunted.

In the article, The Rape culture the reader sees a different view on the case of sexual assault. The reader gets a first look at the president of the United States ideas and opinions on sexual assault. He calls for reformation in the attitude of our culture and the nature of our youth. Thus meaning that the nature and culture which surrounds rape in our society should be completely turned around. The article takes the initiative to say that we as a whole are at fault for these heinous crimes. If our culture could change the way the view women, sexual assault and blame then the world would be very different. This article is a very good source which could be used as a main source for the fact that it is addressing the problem, calling for change and making sure every individual knows that it is their duty to stop these horrible deeds before they even begin.

In the article, "There Are No "Innocent Victims": The Influence of Just World Beliefs and Prior Victimization on Rape Myth Acceptance," the reader gets more statistics on rape culture that are potentially linked to this major educational problem. This particular article actually researched men and women that had been previously sexually assaulted in any way. They asked them a series of questions and surveys on their experiences with the encounter and how it was handled by officials. By doing this they found a new way to research what has been done so that they can look to helping other stop what could be done. Thus leading to new methods to handle and access sexual assault. This article is decent and could be used as evidence for the main claim and in some instances for the main source. From the title it seems as if the author is extremely bias and in fact places blame on the victim but the reader sees that the article doesn't typically correspond with the title. The article seems to be contradicting itself in some fashions but in others it clearly aligns with the research question.

The research question is argumentative because many have different ideals on every aspect involving the subject or sexual assault. While some misguidedly believe it is not a crime worthy of extra attention others believe it is the worst crime right behind death. Other arguments arise from this topic as well such as the reasoning, the psychological toll on the victims, the protocols, the punishment and many more. The different perspectives on this topic help to fortify the fact that the nation as a whole is against rape and wants to take precautions to prevent it. The presidential speech really helps to promote this ideal about the nation as a whole fighting against rape culture in our schools and the streets of our cities. Education on rape should be taught in detail and to every student of every university. This will hopefully help to stop these assaults before they occur and help individuals to be prepared if these situations arise. These perspectives don't change my opinion on the current topic. After assessing the source the research question still stood strong and needs to be addressed and answered. If I had to revise the research question I would probably narrow it to a specific aspect brought about by sexual assault. A narrower question will have fewer answers and oppositions allowing for a more details research paper.
