The drinking age topic gets my attention because it is something that has been discussed for a long time, and it will keep being because no one agrees. I am interested in on this topic because I see more benefits if it gets lowered lower than if it stays the same. Lowering the drinking age has obviously pros and cons, but social media and internet articles shows alcohol consumption of students as something considerably bad. In my opinion, the students' bad behaviors under alcohol effects is caused by not knowing how to drink moderately, but it is because they are not taught in schools how to do so. If they could drink, they were taught in schools. And they would be able to avoid alcohol abuses and bad consequences that excesses can cause. The research does not affect me at all due I already might drink, but it affects many people around me such as friends and family members. I am from Colombia, and the drinking age there is 18. So I have cousins who may drink there, but not here when they are visiting. That could happen to many people as well, they cannot drink in the U.S because they are not 21, even if they can do it in their home countries. That is another reason why I say drinking age should be lowered because the economy would increase by the young people who visit U.S.

The article wants that the organizations and public places where alcohol is distributed to pay more attention to this problematical problematic issue because they are also in charge of trying to decrease these statistics. As CDC knows that young people drink, so it says some of the consequences of drinking, which is addressed to them directly.

CDC is a governmental organization which makes it be a credible source. It uses many statistics to support the ideas about the problem of the drinking age in underage, and how they can work to control it its claim and goals. This source looks pretty credible because it shows some of the statistics about alcohol consumption, and it gives the original source where the blog found the statistical report. In other words, the article want people to see that there are ways to lower the drinking age, and that it is possible, as there are states which have exception in the use of alcohol.

Prof. David J. Hanson is the author of this article. He wrote this for alcohol problems and solutions organization. He uses many other extra sources throughout the whole article, and at the end he gives us the references where he got the information from, which makes it a credible source. There is also a direct link to see a full article about him and his works.

The drinking age is a very arguable topic because it involves people of different ages and their opinions. Lowering drinking age to 18 and keeping it in 21 are the sides, and there are opinions, ideas, and statistics to support either side; although, there are more articles, that talks about human health, that look they are against of lowering. After reading and analyzing the sources I found out that there are many statistics that can affect anyone who reads them, basically because they mention how human body, even life, is affected by alcohol consumption. Now that I know some facts and statistics about the topic, I might change or reword some of my ideas in order to be more precise. I will also try to give concrete opinions, but to be honest I do not want to write all my ideas because I want to leave some for my argumentative essay.
