This is a question you really don't hear of often. I have always been interested in the drone program. Not a lot of people know about the use of drones in war. Drone warfare has become more and more relevant as technology is getting more advanced. They are used in different ways from recreational use to surveillance and war machines. War can be thought of in many different ways and for the United States, it is a part of our daily lives granite it can be gruesome at times. It is not forgiving, nor is it pretty.

The writer of an article I found gives a very good insight on both sides of the argument. A pro would say that drones are used as surveillance and can spy on their targets for hours at a time. This provides accurate info before taking out an attack. A con would be the saying drones kill large numbers of civilians and traumatize nearby populations. The thing is that drones kill fewer civilians than any other weapon. With the use of bombs, mines, and mortars, it is unintended. You can't actively control mortars. They are fired off and forgotten meaning they land where they want to. This causes unnecessary damage.

Mike Bowden of the Smithsonian Magazine writes about the history of drones and how they were used. He has written a few books on modern warfare. He has had years of experiencing researching military topics. Drones have been used since World War II. During that time, drones were called UAVs (Unmanned Arial Vehicles). Video cameras were installed on remote controlled aircraft during Vietnam. These drones have accomplished a lot in prior wars. I would say the use of them in history has proven the fact that drones are quiet and effective tool in war.

Daniel Byman wrote an article talking about how drones work and how the work efficiently. His research focuses on counterterrorism and Middle East security. Daniel has also searched as a member of the 9/11 Commission and worked for the U.S. government. A major stake is saying that no one does it better. Pertaining to the United States using the drone program. The success rate is really high for the country. The backing of foreign countries play a huge role in the success of the program where friendships are born of fashion particularly. Drones are paving the way for other countries to use drones as weapons of destruction.

The drone research project is quiet arguable in many ways. You have one side which support the use of drones in war and then another side which supports against it. The side that supports them use very good points. One point is drones prevent the loss of friendly allies. The drones prevent using human resources to complete a mission. The unsupportive side use good points as well. A point used for them would be the amount of civilian casualties. That is a big stake holder in their support of drones not being used because it deals with the unnecessary loss of life. Drones play a big role in the United States' role of war. They are used efficiently and is a big stake holder in their part in the war of Iraq and Afghanistan.
