Water is the source of life for many organisms and plantson this planet but not all the water available is drinkable as only 3% of the worlds water is potable ("Water scarcity | threats | WWF.", 2016). There were many different commercials portrayed in the Super Bowl 50 this year among all the commercials there was one commercial that really spook about a matter that needs to be addressed that I am personally interested in and that is water conservation. A commercial by Colgate highlighted the main concept of the importance of water in people's life in different countries were water is scarce. It is said that by 2025 half of the worlds population will be living in a high water stress (Admin, 2014). This fact states the importance of water and how much the world might go through if the prediction comes true therefore we as people need to start saving and using water more wisely. In this essay the reason why water is scarce and the ways people can conserve water will be stated with the different policies made by some countries will also be mentioned with the relation to the commercial form the 50th Super Bowl.

In the commercial a man goes to the sink and turns on the faucet to brush his teeth as he starts to brush the faucet is kept on therefore the water keeps on pouring down the drain. As he continues to brush it highlights the different things different people could do with the water pouring down the drain. going through the commercial we could first see that there is a hand washing away dirt from a fruit and a person filling up a bowl of water with unused running faucet. While the commercial was going on with it highlights a fact that we waste up to 4 gallons of water while brushing and that the more then that amount of water many people around the world have in a week. During this you see a small girl washing away dirt form her face. After that it was the end of the commercial with a message saying please turn off the faucet with a #EVERYDROPCOUNTS.

The concept of water scarcity is not something new, this issue has been going on for few years as hundred of millions of people are suffering from a lack of access to clean and safe water as about 43 countries with around 700 people are suffering form water scarcity ("International decade for action "water for life", 2013). Water is an essential part one's life thus very important. Scarcity of water can can effect the environment as well as the growth of plants is highly depended on water. Therefore, this creates a scarcity in the production of food products. That was one of the effects of water scarcity and the other is drought as both the effects are closely related whereas drought effects the organism around the area as well. As the commercial showed how the different people are able to used the water running from the faucet for different purposes such as washing face, washing a fruit and collecting the water in a bowl as shown in the commercial. The people in the commercial looked like the people in the countries were there is a scarcity of water therefore they know the importance of water. I am not saying that other people around the countries do not now the importance of water but were there is a little to no scarcity of water but the the people in the countries were water is limited are going through a worse time as the amount of water availability is decreasing as time goes.

The #EVERYDROPCONUTS in the commercial has a huge fundamental meaning as every drop has a purpose whether it would be for drinking, showering, or even for washing fruits and vegetables. In the commercial the man brushing leaves the faucet open the entire time he was brushing without releasing that he is wasting so water always where on the other hand there so many children going days with a drop a water. The concept of water conservation is rather very important as it is said "Prevention is better than a cure" this applies to water conservation as, if we start using water more wisely from now there will be more water left for the future to use. The United States on it own uses 400 billion gallons of water per day (Admin, 2014) that is rather very high but if we all work together to make small changes in our daily water usage it will all add up to make a bigger difference in the world.

Countries should Australia have taken few step in order to reduce water usage among the people by establishing few water conservation friendly laws and regulation. The cost of the water usage in Australia has increased greatly in few years to discourage the the excess usage of water and they have also promoted the 2 minutes show system were they have distributed timer to people so that they only use that much water for showing only. Personal speaking on my time in Australia, I saw the different ways people were conserving water and that to not completely on their won term. As the government has the price of water and that if you are seen washing you can even be fined. People who own swimming pools pay a must more for water than normal as the government discourage the unneeded usage of water.

Finally, it can be said that the commercial on #EVERYDROPCOUNTS was very much needed as the concept of water conservation is an on going problem in different countries and that everyone should be aware of that. The concept of a man brushing his teeth and leaving the faucet open the entire time is something that many people in their daily life's therefore it can be easily relatable for many of it is viewers. The conversation of water is very important and everyone should put their best foot forward in helping converse water for the future. There were many commercials presented on the time of super bowl 50 but not all of then had a meaningful concept therefore I ready liked this commercial.
