I settled on this specific research question by mostly getting involved in politics over the summer. I wanted to know why and how Sanders has gotten so much support and how he is able to fight against the millionaire and billionaire candidates with even bigger Super PACs backing them up. As I researched for the ILP's I found out more about Sander's political philosophy, and his political background. The ILP's helped to show me how unique and rare of a candidate he is in the mundane and conformed world of American politics.

As I said before I am interested in this research question, because I recently became familiar with US politics. I wanted to find out why Sander's was such an important Candidate, why he is getting so much support from people, and how he is able to hold his ground in the tightly knit world of American politics. I never really cared too much about politics like most Americans I thought that government was corrupt, takes way too much money from people in taxes, and I could not be bothered to learn about it. Until I found out about Bernie Sanders. His speeches and the issues he wanted to fight for stuck with me. For some odd reason I found that I could relate to a seventy four year old man from Vermont than any other politician beforehand.

#I am sort of a stakeholder on this topic. I have invested a lot of time in learning about Bernie Sander's political history and his political philosophy. He has made an impact with me so much that I am willing to write a paper about him. This election year Bernie Sander's campaign would also directly affect me if he won. He would get away with specific laws and rules that just damage the youth and increase incarceration rate in the United States more than any other country in the world. He would let a new consumer economy grow from it. He would make it easier for more young people to go to college, and have an equal opportunity, and also make it easier for younger people to compete for jobs in the middle class that are being held by older people with an experience monopoly.

I focused on Bernie Sanders in the research question because he is the candidate I supported before knowing very little about him, his political background and political philosophy because I liked some of the issues he was fighting for. I came into this project with an ill informed and some bias towards Bernie Sanders. Ways I can avoid showing and being bias is by looking at both sides of the argument clearly and objectively. Being very careful and precise about my word choice, eliminate any type of bias in my wording. Mostly focusing on the facts, and keeping the personal opinions out of the paper.

I still have quite a bit of research left to do on Bernie Sanders, and his political revolution. I still do not fully know why so many people are supporting him. I still have yet to get into full detail about his policies. I have not fully found out about his economic plan and how he will lead the United States into becoming more like European countries like Denmark and Germany. I am hoping to investigate more about Bernie Sander's economic issues, and fully understanding all of them, and finding out where the money will come from and go, and what benefits they bring to the American people. I will hopefully also get to investigate more about the Vermont Senator's political ideology and philosophy. I also want to investigate more about the structured political system in the United States and find out how important this election year is for both the Democratic and Republican Party.

I hope to accomplish several things with my argument. First I hope to completely and fully answer my research question to the best of my abilities. I want the readers to get a clear understanding of my argumentative paper, and fully grasp how revolutionary, radical, and unique Bernie Sanders is in the organized and arranged world of American politics. I know he is not the only radical candidate with interesting hair, but I will try and mostly focus on Bernie Sander's in this paper. I want readers to get a better understanding of American political system, and how a candidate becomes a candidate, how they rise in the polls, and lastly how they get to become President, how, and what type of help they get in the race. I want readers to get a better understanding of the 'Democratic Socialist' Bernie Sanders, so they can find out for themselves if he is the right or the wrong candidate for them. I believe I can effectively answer the research question in eight pages, there is a lot of material that can be researched and written on the research question. In most sources for the ILPs I have found that they have a similar bias either against or towards Bernie Sanders, The sources either show that the change he wants to make is justified and would make the country better off, or in other news articles show Bernie Sanders is a 'socialist' and there is no way he will get elected, and if he does we will turn into China or Russia. However, in every source and news article I found that all claim He is very revolutionary in American politics, and he is getting many more unlikely people to get involved in politics that would never have if it were not for his radical and revolutionary stances. I think maybe if my focus includes more about the American politics system, I would have to include more about that and its affect in the research question. I think under scope and complexity it falls in the middle of both as the question is not too broad or too complex to be written about, however it might be a bit more controversial then other topics solely because it is about a politician and people have very differing viewpoints on American politics.
