I was able to come up with this research question by reviewing my past ILPs. I wanted to keep the focus of my project to stay on the topic of automobiles and global warming. I started off with Voltzwagon scandal and getting good information from it. Then I would search for more information on about my topic. I was able to find an article about persuading people to own electric vehicles and getting rid of their cars while explaining the complexity of completing this task.

I first learned about the Voltzwagon scandal from my teacher last semester. He wanted me to go search about the what happened to Voltzwagon. I searched it and learned that they cheated on their emissions testing so they would get better sales but they got caught in the act. They had to recall a lot cars to fix the software on them. My teacher was not so happy about it because he had just purchased a car from Voltzwagon and now he has to wait more for it to get to him. I felt interested in this topic for my paper because I felt that I could better explain this and the major problem of air pollution.

I do not consider myself a stakeholder for this topic. I am not apart of Voltzwagon in any way or any other car makers. I would consider the stakeholders to be the people recently bought a Voltzwagon car. Others would be anyone involved with eco-friendly organizations.

I already knew about the Voltzwagon scandal. I felt that VW should not have resorted to this even. I will study both sides of the argument and give equal reasoning on both matters.

When I went about writing about this topic I wanted to learn more about VW and the other automotive companies efforts on global warming. It would show that Voltzwagon clearly worried about sales rather than pollution regulations. Other companies and organizations wanted to build electric cars that would have longer battery life. The main thing both parties worried about was sales. They needed money to make this happen.

I want the reader to know about what it takes for automobile companies to produce less pollution causing cars. I believe that I can get this into 8-10 pages. I would have to find more research on the topic.

One would assume that no one agrees with choices made by Voltzwagon but would see what there original goal was. The original goal was to make cars that produce less smog.
