Animal testing is an interesting topic because it is extremely broad and has many different opinions. This particular topic was chosen because my major is pre pharmacy and learning about animals is fascinating. By combining these two things, the idea of the research question came about. Since this topic is so wide-ranging, it was narrowed down to research more on how animals can be taken out. I feel as though I am qualified to write about this because research was done on the question and those ideas will be used to be expanded upon in this paper. Animal use in science has an emotional impact on many people's values and beliefs, while others accept what is being done during these procedures of animal use. Even though using animals in the testing of medical products is bad, what else can be used to make sure humans are not tremendously harmed? Even though my personal experience was not like a professional's, I have performed a test on an animal before. During high school, an experiment on goldfish was completed. The fish were exposed to a certain substance and their reactions were observed. At the end of the experiment, only some of the fish survived while others did not. The people in my class who wanted to keep their fish could not because the experiment killed their fish. As you can see, animal use in research can have an oblivion of outcomes, but the focus of this paper is on the outlook of others when it comes to this topic.

Source one was an article titled "Do You Know How Your Mascara is Made?" found in the Carolina Rhetoric that talked about how cosmetics products are tested on animals. Not too many people agreed with this and went out and did something about it. The people who did not agree with this type of testing, got many companies and countries involved to change the way cosmetics are being tested. This would be considered an argumentative article because it shows bias and tells how the ending of animal testing is becoming more successful. The author is credible because she is involved with the Humane Society. With this source, examples and information on the negative effects of animal testing will be talked about.

The second source was an online scholarly journal titled "Alternatives in Animal Testing" that mentioned what the scientific world was doing about altering how they examine the reactions of products. It mentioned how they wanted to stop using animals as much as possible and animal use will be ended in the future. It also tells how much work is being done about animal use. The author, Bella Abzug, is very dependable because her work gets peer reviewed and can be found on the scholarly journal website PubMed. One thing that might affect the paper is the age of the article. It was written five plus years ago and only mentions things that have been done during that time period.

The last source was a scholarly article on the history of animal testing. This is a credible source because it was found on PubMed, which is a scholar journal website, and written by a medical doctor. This is not a biased article because it only mentions history and information about experiments done in the past by researchers. This history of animal testing will be greatly used because it gives the audience a background of the main point and references many beneficial examples.

With the use of all these source and the addition of one more source, ending animal testing can be a good argument. Why animal use in scientific research is corrupt and what is being done to replace the use will be argued in the paper. The sources used follow up what the main idea of the paper is can be seen in the above paragraphs. They are all plausible because their authors all have some type of authority and have been appraised. The different perspectives really do not affect my thoughts because I am trying to strictly inform about one side of this issue in science. To revise the research question, I would mention actual reasons why animal testing is bad. This would cause the argument to be more focused and possibly make a very informative research paper. Science is a broad field and so many ideas can be used to argue and research for a paper.
