Maya Angelou once said, "It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength" (Brainy Quote, Maya Angelou). It's the American Dream that anyone, who wants to work for a better life, can do it in America. Denying immigrants their right to the American Dream is similar to denying the ancestors of America their dream. The U.S was founded by immigrants, who wanted a better life. Americans should, who want to stop future immigrants from coming to America, are not aware of the benefits and have too many fears about what will become of future America with immigration. Border walls along Mexico's border will not stop the determination of Latino immigrants wanting to live in America. Americans need to stop electing candidates that do not the good factors of immigration. By allowing legal and illegal immigrants alike to become American citizens, the U.S. will have the benefits of a gaining a higher GDP, taxpayer dollars, policy improvements, and new businesses that will reshape America into a much more efficient country.

Even though, some Americans think about how immigration will lead to the lack of jobs for American people, immigrants can increase the jobs and wage for American workers. Shown by the report by Eleanor Klibanoff how immigrants have created new jobs for the American people and help with the poverty line. Immigrants can bring in more jobs than they take. With new innovations and ideas they can contribute to Americans by giving many jobs that could possibly pay better than minimum wage.

Another one of benefits that immigrants bring to the U.S with new business is the increase of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product). This statement is proven by the research made by George Borjas showing how the revenues made by immigrants will eventually raise the GDP. As more immigrants are allowed into America the better standard of living will for average Americans. American workers salaries will be more sufficient into having a better quality of life in America. Americans could have a better quality of life with immigrants than with a future with no immigrants plus less money in their pockets.

Some Americans are thinking about how immigrants cost America money to have them settled in America. When it comes to the national budget immigrants bring help out as well. The revenue from immigrants through taxpayer dollars help decrease the national debt. When the national debt is decreased the worth of American currency will rise. This event will give America more purchasing power abroad and in the market. These profits will outlive the low cost of having immigrants reside in the U.S. According to Walter Ewing, "Effective immigration reform can be a powerful instrument of economic revitalization. By increasing the overall population and particularly the number of working-age labor force participants, reform can help expand the economy, contribute to higher overall average wages, generate more consumer spending, and spur new demand for residential housing construction. By supporting stronger economic growth, immigration reform can also reduce the federal budget deficit substantially."(Immigration Reform: Implications for Growth, Budgets, and Housing, BPC)

Although, there are already Latino citizens in America, Americans still feel that illegal immigrants will create more crime which will make the U.S more dangerous. The research done by Francis J. Mootz III and Leticia M. Saucedo shows that these misconceptions such as (Immigrants and illegal immigrants cause less crime than the native born Americans. The politics of the U.S have people, who give bad stereotypes to Latino immigrants. These government officials or wealthy people give the American populace misconceptions based on fear of losing of power of their positons. "I will not back off until we solve the problem of this illegal invasion . . . . Invaders, that's what they are. Invaders on the American sovereignty and it [cannot] be tolerated."(Ted Robbins, "The Man Behind Arizona's Toughest Immigrant Laws" 73) said Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce are caused by pure rhetoric. This type of rhetoric that misinforms Americans and create irrational fears. He also said "Drive around parts of Phoenix. I get calls all the time and it's not because they're Hispanic, it's because the culture is different. The gangs are bigger. There's more violence, kidnappings are way up." These stereotypical ways of defining Latino immigrants' culture is wrong and bias.

When talking about current events, Donald Trump is a prime factor to all the rhetoric about immigrants. During his debates he has made many racist remarks and comments that have kept him rising in the polls. By misinforming Americans and appealing to their wants and frustrations with the U.S Government Donald Trump gains political power. "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending the best. They're not sending you, they're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bring crime. They're rapists ... And some, I assume, are good people."(Donald Trump) A country such as the U.S. should not be showcasing someone, who talks badly of another race. This just adds more wrong ideas about how to deal with immigration.

One of these ideas is to create a huge wall that will separate North America and Mexico. This is an idea to stop illegal immigrants from crossing the border. The concept is somewhat effective, but mostly a foolish proposal. The building of the wall will cost many taxpayer dollars for Americans and raise the national debt. This will not stop the illegal immigration because of the time and money it will take to build it. Many illegal immigrants have already made secret tunnels that reach to the U.S. On top of this fact many Donald Trump wants to make a taller wall that will have little to no effect on the number of illegal immigrants coming and entering. He made the statement "I will build a great wall -- and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me -- and I'll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words." U.S needs to look at another option with dealing with the broken immigration system before America does any more wasteful spending.

When thinking of ideas that are just inhumane at times is deportation. Many politicians with views as Donald Trump thinks deportation will solve this broken system of immigration. It does not fix the problems immigration but destroys families of law abiding Latinos, who just wanted a better life. They are taken from their jobs, homes, families forcibly by law enforcement after they have received the deportation papers. Too many Latino Americans live in fear of being deported and it's wrong to force children with parents become orphans. The U.S states is not helping America, they are just hurting their workforce. On top of immigrants being good for the economy, they also are a necessity for the labor force of America. America cannot function without a workforce doing jobs that even uneducated Americans no longer want to do such as catering, farming, landscaping, and construction. These jobs must be filled by someone to keep America growing. Steven Colbert said on his late night show "Our country's tomato industry is plum screwed"(Late Night Show: Steven Colbert) in protest of Alabama's immigration laws which resulted with many key migrant workers. The scaring away of any immigrants with unfair labor laws is not a way to treat possible future Americans citizens.

An option that was proposed by David Becerra, David K. Androff, Cecilia Ayon and Jason T. Castillo the U.S states needs to fix their immigration policies. One of the main reasons that immigrants are residing in the U.S states illegally is the slow system to become naturalized citizens. Mexico is currently occupied by many drug cartels and gang related crime. Latino's honestly cannot wait for the slow immigration system unless they are willing to wait to be killed. Relatives of Latino immigrants keeps stressing to America the dangers of deportation. The moral obligation of America is to protect and help people in need. The U.S needs to give immigrants a chance to earn their living in America. Michael Benet a Senator of Colorado wrote in "Michael Bennet: Immigration bill can restore the American dream" that said "My grandparents had only been in this country 15 years. They didn't speak English when they arrived. They had survived the most horrific event of the 20th century. And "beautiful America" had given them hope, the opportunity to rebuild their lives, and the chance to live free."(Michael Benet) This is one of the reasons why we should fix the immigration policy through reform to give people a chance to truly live the American dream like our ancestors did before us. Immigration reform can bring changes that could lead to higher national security of the U.S. by registering and documenting illegal immigrants. This option is more cost effective than trying to build a huge wall between the border of Mexico and U.S.

As the election for the next president comes up the citizens of America need to consider who tackles the problem of immigration the best since it is essential to insure the future of America. Candidates such as Donald Trump strains U.S's relationships with other nations. Mexico is U.S's biggest trade partner and Mexico is not pleased with the statements he has made. If Donald Trump was elected president he would strain our relations with other countries and create more enemies than allies. When the British Prime Minister's David Cameron's had a spokesman give a statement that "The prime minister has been very clear that, as we look at how we tackle extremism and this poisonous ideology, what politicians need to do is look at ways they can bring communities together and make clear that these terrorists are not representative of Islam and indeed what they are doing is a perversion of Islam," in reaction to Trump's comments and possible presidency.

Some presidential candidates have been creating many unclear plans about how to deal with the future of immigration. Americans need to consider the negative effects of blocking the flow of immigration. These negative effects include not that many new businesses and or jobs for Americans. The U.S will not be able to have a more limited labor force to keep the country running. The national debt will increase with limited taxes from immigrants to help off put the debt, which could making the value of the American dollar fall even faster. The global community will see the U.S as being more hostile and tarnish America's reputation for being a nation of immigrants. All these negative effects that could come to the U.S if Americans keep listening to unclear ideas from not informed candidates from the U.S.

Americans, who have fears that uncontrolled immigration is not good for the U.S, are correct. However, that is why immigration reform is very important, so immigrants have a legal way to becomes citizens more easily. George Bush said "America's immigration system is outdated, unsuited to the needs of our economy and to the values of our country. We should not be content with laws that punish hard-working people and deny businesses willing workers and invite chaos at our border" (George Bush) when speaking on the topic of immigration reform. Immigration reform could mean the better saving of taxes and a better reputation of the U.S. Immigrants coming into the U.S will be able to have the American Dream and build the U.S economy. Immigrants are very beneficial to the growth of America and Americans should know this from history.

The U.S was founded by immigrants and became the strongest nation in the world. The fact is that immigrants are what makes America so powerful. They bring new ideas, innovations, and customs that make the U.S more diverse and efficient. Albert Einstein was a Jewish immigrant and revolutionized math and science. Arnold Schwarzenegger from Austria was the governor of California, has made movies and still making appearances on television today. Jackie Chan from Hong Kong made many movies that entertained many Americans. Americans need to see that many of the U.S's best contributors were in fact immigrants. Barack Obama said "We need immigration reform that will secure our borders, and ... that finally brings the 12 million people who are here illegally out of the shadows... We must assert our values and reconcile our principles as a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws."(Barack Obama)

Therefore, the U.S needs immigrants to prosper and become a more powerful nation. The acts of deportation and creation of border walls will only delay the problem. If Americans want a positive change they should fix the immigration system with immigration reform and create more citizens. The U.S must do these actions to insure the future of Americans, while keeping current Americans citizens safe. When voting during this upcoming presidential election it is of the best interest of everyone to choose someone that can bring for the best positive change for the U.S. Albert Einstein said "The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking."(Einstein)
