Finding a job in our economy is getting more difficult because of how competitive the work field is. Due to new technology and only needing machines, illegal immigrants will work for less and they will be hired so that the company can make more money. Illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed into the United States without a visa and shouldn't be allowed to get a job. This topic interests me because I live in Texas and we have the border between the US and Mexico nearby as well as having a higher Hispanic population in the area. I have a friend who has hired some illegal immigrants for cheaper labor, which helps her business because she will make more money due to paying less for labor. If the illegal immigrants were U.S. citizens, they probably wouldn't work for anything less than minimum wage. This isn't moral because it affects the economy, allowing jobs to be taken from Americans because illegal immigrants will work for less. Another issue with immigration is safety. The Americans start feeling unsafe due to more illegal immigrants coming from Mexico and refugees from Syria. Therefore, there are many things to consider. The question that I have is "Do illegal immigrants cause a toll on the US economy and do they take jobs from US citizens?".

A source I used for research on illegal immigration is, "Under-age and on the Move" in "The Economist", which is a credible source because this article was in a highly ranked magazine. The article's main claim is that Obama is easing the border control for younger children who are trying escape the violence in their city. The main stakeholders in this article are the young children and mothers who are trying to build a safer life by coming to America. However, these immigrants are costing American tax payers because these immigrants require social programs. The possible bias from this article is that it is coming from a Democratic president.

The argumentative article I chose is, "Americas Immigration Challenge" by David Frum. The writer of this piece makes the information credible because he used to write for George W. Bush and the "Insider magazine." He has a lot of experience from working for George Bush which gave him knowledge on policies. The major idea for this was that we should worry about who we let into the country in order to protect the citizens from higher chances of terrorist attacks. The main idea from this article is that the American citizens are raising more concerns on who we allow into this country. This is so relevant now because of the refugees who entering from countries that have previously been a threat to the United States. The possible bias from this article is that this source is likely a conservative who is not very supportive about immigration.

Lastly, the other article is "5 Theories About the Economic Effects of Illegal Immigration You Shouldn't Trust" by Roque Planas. The article discusses common theories on immigration and argues that these theories are incorrect. This article may be biased because it is the Latino Huffington post, which would probably have a positive take on immigration. I believe this is a good source because it adds a different perspective to my paper. The main points this article brings up are that undocumented immigrants are not affecting our economy and taxes and that immigrants benefit business owners because they accept lower wages. The stakeholders in this article are the people with the incorrect opinions and this article could possibly change their outlook.

The research question, "Do illegal immigrants cause a toll on the US economy and do citizens feel danger from letting them into the country?", isn't just a yes or no question. There will be many sides to this argument. The first article changed my outlook on how restrictive we should be on children who are immigrants. The second article will provide an argument on illegal immigration in terms of safety issues. The Last article will be used for my counterargument by providing more positive view on immigration. However, my perspective is an extreme one in that I believe we should never allow illegal immigration in our country. The illegal immigrants should be fined or arrested and sent back to their country.
