I'm interested in this topic of research because I'm currently going through the process of taking a lot of vitamins to fix the yeast infections in my abdomen from my food allergies. So it made me interested to see what doctors thought about vitamins and pharmaceutical drugs. My research question does not affect my values, it's just something I have interest in. I do believe it is important to know what is good for you to take and what is bad for you to take. My person experience on this topic is that I have always been on pharmaceutical drugs to fix problems in my abdominal area but the doctors never actually knew what was wrong with me. So I tried another doctor. The doctor I went too was a chiropractor/ a specialists in naturally figuring out if you have any food allergies. Instead of pharmaceuticals they gave me vitamins and told me the seven foods I was allergic too and all my abdominal problems and headaches are gone. I'm qualified to write about this because of the amount of research I have done on this topic.

The author of this first article is Dr. Mark Hyman and the name of this article is "Why You Should Not Stop Taking Your Vitamins." In this article Dr. Hyman talks about why you should not stop taking your vitamins. He gives several examples as to why he believes that we should not stop taking our vitamins. The three examples he gives are it helps you save money, saves peoples lives, and that the scientists research is flawed when it comes to vitamins. After he claims that the research about vitamins is flawed he then gives reasons why he believes that. He is a practicing family physician, a nine-time #1 New York Times bestselling author, and an internationally recognized leader, speaker, educator, and advocate in his field. He has a lot of credit with different books, newspapers, television shows and other things he has been on or written. He is bias towards vitamins because he uses them as well as suggest that people take them but his points about vitamins are still very accurate. The major values for this source are how vitamins help people and that pharmaceuticals can be very dangerous for us.

The author of this next article is Dr. Mercola, and the name of this article is "Pharmaceutical Drugs are 62,000 Times More Likely to Kill You than Supplements." Throughout this article Dr. Mercola talks about why supplements are under attack. She says that pharmaceutical drugs are 62,000 times more likely to kill you than food supplements. This article explains to you why vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements are under attack and doctors are telling people not to take them when they have a super safe track record compared to drugs. Dr. Mercola has a lot of credibility on the matter because he has done a lot of research on the topic and has several articles and his own newsletter on vitamins and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Mercola is bias towards vitamins but he does explain both sides of the argument saying that pharmaceuticals are needed for certain circumstances but not for every need. The values and interests of this source are that she thinks people need to know that vitamins are safe and people should not believe what some doctors are saying about them.

The author of this last article is Dr. Christiane Northrup and the name of the article is "Vitamins Versus Drugs: Which Is Safer." Throughout the article, Dr. Christiane Northrup explains that pharmaceutical drugs only mask your symptoms at the time they don't actually get rid of the problem. She continues by saying that the more we take these drugs the less effective they are going to be which will eventually lead to a problem. She says that you can't hold nutritional supplements to the same standard as drugs but they are definitely a lot safer. Christiane Northrup is a very intelligent woman who has a M.D. She has many different articles and blogs on the topic of drugs and vitamins. This woman is credible for the article because she has done a lot of research and knows what she is talking about. She is bias towards vitamins because she suggests that they are safer than drugs but she does say that drugs are needed sometimes. The major values and interests of this source are that pharmaceutical drugs aren't bad for you at times but they are not to be used all the time instead you should use vitamins to stay healthier and then you will not need them as much.

The research question is arguable because there are doctors and groups of people on either side of this topic. The groups form by the doctors or groups of people trying to get you to buy their products. All three of the sources I have found mostly agree that it is better for you to take vitamins than it is for you take pharmaceuticals. One doctor explained that it is good for you to take pharmaceutical drugs for some illnesses, but not for every little pain that we have. Otherwise we will become immune to them and they wont ever be able to help us when we actually need them. I agree with almost everything that is in these sources. I know from personal experience that you can come immune to pharmaceuticals from taking them too much. I also agree that vitamins cannot fix everything but they make you healthier and keep you from getting infections and illnesses you can get when not taking them. My main focus of this argument is that vitamins are safer for you to take so you do not get illnesses that you would get without them. I may need to change they way I have formed my research question as we go on with our research and the sources get limited.
