Just hearing or reading about gameday at Williams Brice football stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, does not do it justice at all, it is a sight like no other. The people that get one of the best views are the cheerleaders. Cheerleaders are there from start to end and get to see the whole day pan out, from the stadium being empty to it being packed out with fans. No one can get the same rush of excitement unless they see it or they are there to experience it for themselves.  Photos taken at Williams Brice show the excitement of the fans by highlighting the cheerleaders. There are so many sights and sounds at Williams Brice and there are a million ways to interpret what you see them. 

The first picture is one of the cheerleaders performing a pep rally for fans before the game. Each person watching the pep rally can have their own opinions of what they saw. They caught the cheerleaders while they were playing the fight song for The University of South Carolina. He shoot it from ground up because he wanted to give the effect of how high the cheerleaders are in the air. The photographer also got the band and some of the fans in the photo as well. The photographer wanted to get the band in the photo to show the unity of how the band and the cheerleaders work together to get the crowd ready for the big game. The photo also tried to make the viewer more excited by giving them an exciting performance. There are many exciting actions and sound occurring in this picture, even though there is no actual sound the viewer and imagine sound because they see the band playing and the cheerleaders performing to it. The imagine appeals to people's emotion by getting them excited for the football game happening inside of Williams Brice afterwards. 

The football game is not the only thing that happens on game days at Williams Brice, There are many pregame activities, including a couple pep rallies and the famous Gamecock walk where fans watch the players walk into the stadium. Picture number two is from another pep rally before the game. The picture shows the cheerleaders trying to get the fans pumped up before the game. There are many symbols in this picture that symbolize crowd involvement, excitement, and football. For instance the cheerleaders shaking their pom poms  and yelling cheers and doing dances shows crowd involvement because the viewing can see from the photo that the fans are yelling and cheering with them. You can also see some excited fans in the background behind the cheerleaders. The photographer wanted to make sure he had a good shot of the stadium in the background to symbolize what exactly is going on and why the cheerleaders are performing the pep rally for the fans. The megaphones being used by the male cheerleaders is a very recognizable use of crowd involvement. When looking at the image most people would feel excitement, enthusiasm, and a rush of adrenaline. The way the photographer set up the picture shows that he wanted the viewer to see the highlight, which would be Williams  Brice in the background. The cheerleaders and the fans are just highlights to show emphasis. 

Now it is time for kick off! In this picture the viewer can see the packed stadium, the football players on the field, the cheerleaders, and the fans; everyone in this picture is excited and anticipating kickoff. The photographer again used the cheerleaders to highlight the fans and the stadium in the background. This picture symbolizes almost every person's picture perfect football saturday; a clear blue sky, a packed house, and carolina football. The lighting in this picture highlights the garnet very well. With the garnet highlighted the you do not have to assume the team's main colors.  In this picture the fans are standing up and yelling for the football team. The angle the photographer took the picture emphasizes the size of the crowd and and it makes the cheerleaders the center of the photo. 

The main highlight of photo four would be the cheerleader and the Gooo sign. There is a lot of excitement portrayed through this photograph. The fans are on their feet in the background and the cheerleaders are shaking their pom poms. This photo shows more than that there is a football game going on, it shows how many different things are happening at the same time as the football game. For instance you can see the other photographers and television network workers in the back. It is clear to the reader/viewer that there is something exciting going on in the game because the cheerleaders are using the signs and shaking their pom poms to get the crowd to be loud and amped up. The viewer/reader can also tell that this is later in the game and that it is hot outside because the cheerleaders look hot and sweaty, and their hair looks frizzy. 

The fifth photo catches so many things happening in Williams Brice Stadium. The main thing occurring in the photo would be that the sun is starting to go down, the reader can tell this because of the shadows of the people in the photo. It is very clear that it is in the late afternoon. It is easy to tell that it is a nice sunny day as well since there are very view clouds in the sky. There is also something exciting going on at the time of the photo and it can be inferred that the band has just played a song that the cheerleaders dance to, considering that they are all doing the same thing at the same time. The reader can also tell that there is a breeze of some sort because of the flags blowing in the background of the photo.
