Nature, the place people go to find peace, clarity and escape from the daily routines of their lives. What makes nature so special to people? Nature can be described as the raw state of the earth before it was modernized and developed. One of the best things about seeing the rawness of the world is how each perspective effects the way things are perceived. The perspective that one chooses to see is the true image to their mind. This allows someone to make a clear decision about what they see and what information will be deciphered from it. People use perspectives and the clarity of the outdoors to help themselves see clearly and make the most important choices in life. Nature is a place where people can reflect on their lives and make decisions after being able to calmly escape reality and view their situation from a different point of view. The cool color in these photos and objects inside the photos represent the reflective feelings of nature and the solemn tone that causes deep thought.

Look at the first photo for example, the introduction to the photo essay. From the perspective it is displayed in, one might see clouds in the top of the photo and the surface of the water in the bottom portion. Now if the photo is rotated 180 degrees, the bottom portion looks like a sandy bottom under the water and the top looks like the surface from underneath the water. The illusion of the photo is that unless told, a person could not say which one is the original. The photo holds tones that are more blue and grey than any other color. These colors give the viewer a more solemn perspective when viewing the photo. Sometimes deep thought is inspired by solemnity and this is what helps a person who is exploring the outdoors to reflect on the events that transpire in their life. The lesson of this photo is that perspective is not always what it seems and that blue colors bring a feeling of solemnity that helps a viewer to reflect on their life.

Perspective is such a driving force in the daily life of each person. Think of these perspectives, how the world looks inside a mountain stream and how it looks outside the mountain stream. From inside the mountain stream the world looks closed off and cold. The only part that exists to am organism inside the mountain stream is the closed off world that the organism lives in. This second photo is from the perspective underneath the water. This photo also has a cold tone that helps push the viewer into a solemn tone while they view the photo. Rocks can clearly be seen in the background of the photo and the camera is buried into the sandy bottom of the stream. This is another photo that can be rotated about itself to show a picture that can be seen as clouds and the surface or the dirt and the surface. Now, inside this photo are sections of clarity but there are dark sections of dark and vague sand. Sometimes nature helps people think and they gain clarity in certain situations. The sight of the valley from the top of a mountain allows one to feel like they are on top of the world. Also, some ambiguity remains in other areas but it’s the next photo that really ties in well. This picture has light rays that can be seen in the view along with a shiny stone in the center and blurriness all around. The stone represents the major that a college student would select for his career path. The somewhat clear area surrounding the stone is the other majors inside that career field and the blurry edges are the majors that the student has hardly any idea about because they are so far out of his career path. On the road to college there are many decisions available and the students that are looking do not always have a clear idea of what they are going to find a career in. From outside the stream the world looks so much bigger and the stream seems so small. The stream is very complex but it is also a small area. A person might see the stream as an open area of water, but from underneath the water is the view the complete opposite? Yes, the view is the complete opposite, the outside world of the stream is just like the stars are to humans. Occasionally they can be reached but very seldom does any human come into contact with them.

This fourth photo is the area that the previous three photos were taken in and that is the beauty of perspective. A person may never have thought that those three photos came from this specific area in the outdoors. Close up things look extremely different than they do from a distance where everything can be seen. This stream looks so vibrant and full of color with warm tone to the picture. Underneath the water the pictures look cold and dark with no life just sand and rocks. Often times the smaller details look more daunting and difficult to take in but the entirety of the scene is a warm place. This is what leads the student to make his decision about what he wants to do with his life. Once the whole picture is in view the small views become so much more clear and easy to cope with. This is what brings the clarity inside all of the ambiguous ideas that he had about college. The fifth photo is a complete change from the rest and it brings people into the photo and not much nature. There is a young man holding the hand of a small boy. A pathway is in view and little turns to other pathways can be seen but only the path he takes is in view. The small boy is looking up at his older brother, who is about to leave for college, and is still unaware that he will be the last child at home. The older brother is looking at the path and trying to help walk down this path while helping to keep his little brother on the right path. He is to be an example for his little brother and is scared to let go. The photos change so abruptly because that is how reality operates. One can ponder in nature all that they wish to but when the day comes for change the transition is abrupt. This photo holds a warmer tone which suggests the happiness that this abrupt transition will bring. At the time of the transition things seemed solemn but the result of the reflective time spent in nature will be good decisions. This solemn reflective time is what allows this transition into a warmer and happier world. The older boy had a perspective of how great things were going to be, while the little boy had no idea what was happening. As the viewer looks at the photo they will more than likely identify with the older boy. Only a small child would look at the photo and identify with the small boy. The difference in perspectives is enormous. The little boy feels sad and unsure but the young man knows that he has one shot to do everything right and make the example for his little brother. The path is right there it just comes down to how somebody looks at the path and what they turn to in order to think about where they are taking their lives. Some people go to the mountains, city, rivers, or beaches but it always takes a certain perspective to see the little things and the big idea. The boys in this photo will now be able to make the best decision because they spent time reflecting in nature.

This series of photos transitions from a colder color pallet to a warmer color pallet. These photos also contain only nature until the fifth photo which causes a harsh transition between the message delivered by each photo. The color pallet transition is an example of how after a period of reflection life becomes warmer and more enjoyable. By stepping back and viewing life from a different perspective the characters in the final photo were able to make the choices that gave them the most benefit. Nature allows people to think clearly and connect with either the warmer side of their feelings or the colder side of their feelings. The colder side is the solemn side that allows deep thought and the warmer side is happy side that allows joy and better productivity. In conclusion, these photos are examples of the deep thought allows a person to connect with and the happiness and productivity that are a result of the deep thoughts.
