In 2016, Almutawa Mohammed released "Karma," his first short TV show, through the YouTube channel. Almutawa is a producer and a photographer who started working and teaching himself for two years until he became good enough in production. Most of his work is inspired by his society and the old stories, told by his family, and all that made him to be a very creative person in the society. Sacrifices are the main focus point in his production. By looking at Almutawa’s use of slow motion, gloomy music, and showing the facial expressions, we can see his ideas, which is to make the experience of the moment feel more real to the audience when the main character saw his young brother dying, which most viewers do not feel the exact feelings of losing someone in the reality; this is significant because this is very hard scene to deal with, which has a plenty of sad feelings.

The death scene of Bader ,who is the little brother, was very sad and Almutawa made it very incredible to live the moment as if its real. Almutawa uses slow motion to direct the viewers’ eyes to the facial expressions and the shocked eyes of the main character because it was close-up as well as the speed of the video was slowly. Moreover, the painful reaction when the main character reaches his innocent brother, the last living member from his family, was really sad because the scene itself can describe how close they were because the Aziz, who is the old brother, showed the deep love he had to his brother by crying of the lost. However, Almutawa uses the whole scene with movements of the main character such as his hands and eyes, which shows his shock. This is similar what most drama movies do. Some people think of that scene was very exaggerating because it took long time in that part; however, this is actually closer to the real-life experiencing and no one can feel the same feelings unless they experience it.

Choosing an appropriate music to that scene was really important. Almutawa uses a very sad music that can be appropriate with the death as well as the slow motion of the scene. It was very calm when the main character first saw his young brother on the ground and then the music gets louder as the main character walking. There was a few beats in the beginning of the music and it was used very accurately with the scene. In other words, Almutawa uses every beat in the music with showing the death body and then go back to the main character in order for the viewers may feel the main character’s pain. The music is one of most important factors that can make the scene very beautiful. As the main character reaches his brother, the music gets very sad and even when the viewers watch that sad moment, they will probably be shocked because the music and the slow motion were suitable.

The body language of both the main character and the young brother create a sense of sad emotion. For example, when the main character saw his brother in the ground, he was walking slowly and his hands were in his face to show the curiosity if this young boy, who is on the ground, is his brother or someone else. As he was walking his face got shocked whenever he saw his brother’s face because there was a distance between the main character and the young boy so it was hard for him to analyze his face. Furthermore, the movements of his hands were perfectly suitable because those movements represent the shock. As the main character hold his brother in his hands, the eyes were widely opened and that show us how those brothers were very close. Moreover, the way of the old brother was trying to talk his young brother but no respond creates a very miserable scene. For instance, the main character was close to his brother’s ears and he wanted for him to listen what he wanted to say before he died and this is kind of depressing when anyone lose someone surprisingly. After the main character accepted the reality of the death, he did a good job of holding him in a way that direct the viewers’ eyes of the love he has to his brother by trying to waking him up. While the scene was silent except the music were played an important role, there was a screaming sound from the main character that show us as a viewer the painful moment.

Almutawa’s use of slow motion in this specific scene instead of making it normal mood that can be used in any normal scene. The distance between the main character and the death body lets us feel the moment as well as the curiosity of what would happen later. The sad music was really played an important role of showing how the main character was destroyed and shocked. The facial expressions of both the death body and the main character were good enough to deliver the feelings of losing someone. These things are really hard to deal with, but Almutawa did a good job of making the scene to be like in the reality.
