April 25th, 2016 was the last time I played my favorite sport on my home field. This picture is worth a thousand words to me. It’s more than just a picture you’d skip over when stalking facebook pictures or a picture you wouldn’t take a second glance at. I decided to pick this photo and analyze it to explain what it took to get to that point in athletic career, being that it was senior night. Throughout my life my athletic ability was borderline as important as my grades and my family. It was always a priority to be the best on the field and always work hard. That type of dedication and commitment has shaped who I’ve become today. I was on multiple travel teams and was always expected to be the best, which was a lot of pressure to say the least. The sport has been apart of my life since I was as young as I could remember. That is why this picture is so important to me showing how far I’ve come on and off the field.

As you could tell, the photo is captured from a distance getting my two coaches and all my teammates in it. I was a captain my junior and senior year of high school leading the team to become more successful. Being a captain taught me many things about myself and becoming a true team player. It also taught me the important life lessons at a younger age than most. My team is behind me in this picture with the focus being more on myself and my two coaches. With that being said, the placement resembles the team I learned to carried on my back through thick and thin. My team behind me was holding bats up in the air that I ran through on the baseline showing appreciation for leading the girls and building inspirable relationships throughout the years. Again, being that the picture is taken from a distance you can still see the joy on my face. This emotion not only shows my happiness towards the sport and the memories on the field, but also how I felt playing and being with all of these valuable people. The spacing between the team and the parents also says a lot. On the field it was always just our teammates and coaching staff, it was rare parents stepped on the dirt for many reasons. Including the fact that this was our space to come out everyday and be who we are and enjoy our time. It was our place to share with our teammates, it was our second home all Spring season long.

The brightness from the sun intensifies the mood of the picture. It is a happy and upbringing feeling towards the day. The bright colors represent the excitement towards senior day with smiles and achievement. All the people in the photo are standing very close together showing the amount of love we had for each other. My team quickly became a family, being that the varsity team varied of all ages we spend everyday bonding over millions of things. My coaches basically had to beg us to shut up, we were all so comfortable with each other. My body language shows the appreciation I have for the head varsity coach I spend all four years with on my high school team. Our arms reaching out for a hug after I ran through the tunnel, my open arms and huge smile on my face show how greatly appreciated I was for all he did for me. My coaches met me at the end of the tunnel proving the end of an era, that my time on our home field is over. The last memory on the field was left with much more than a memory, pride.

This image is vertical being that we are all standing and all in the same area, looking like were in line of each other. This image shows the point in time that is somewhat frozen being that it is such a fond memory. The color contrast in the photo are many different colors that complement the qualities of the other colors. The picture comes together so well because of the put together photo of all of us. The imagine scaling shows the quality of what the photo means to me. The photo itself isn’t necessarily the best of quality or as clear or close up as it could be.

Overall, the realism of the photo couldn't get any more real. It is an original photo and such an integral part of who I am. This photo dug deep into memories that showed just more than that day. Memories dated all the way back to how it all began. Connecting it to what we have been learning in class is something that I found easier to do when connecting back to myself and the history of my personal life. The sport has been apart of my life since I was as young as I could remember. That is why this picture is so important to me showing how far I’ve come.
