In the popular movie series, The Twilight Saga, Stephanie Meyers creates a distant reality involving werewolves and vampires, while The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe series, by C.J. Lewis, generates a fantasy world full of evil witches and magic. Both of these series keep you on the edge of you seat waiting for the next event to happen. There is no battle like the battle between Narnia and Twilight. The Chronicles of Narnia portrays a sweet and exciting view to the watchers while Twilight is filled with more gloom and bleakness. These two movie series have many commonalities. They show affectionate love and a powerful plot summary.

Twilight has many thrilling events spread out through the entire movie. It starts off with a normal high school girl who falls in love with a fore bidden vampire. As soon as she falls in love with Edward she knew her life would become complicated. Edward, a handsome but mysterious teen, is a part of a huge family full of vampires who want to welcome Bella in. They end up getting married and having an immortal child which is half human and half vampire. The Volturi, the most powerful coven of vampires, comes after the immortal child and wants to destroy the whole Cullen family. In the end, Bella and Edward live happily ever after. Literally, considering vampires lives forever.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, transports a little girl, Lucy, and her siblings into this world of magic. This world of magic contains so many creatures and of course the evil White Witch, Jadis. These four English siblings are sent to a country house where they will be safe from the bombings of London during World War II. They are all playing hide and seek in the house and Lucy hides in a huge wardrobe to only end up discovering what was really in this wardrobe and it was not just winter coats. They all wander into this world full of snow, Narnia. They all work with Alan, the magical lion, and his peers to defeat this witch. In the end, the outcome is positive and the four English siblings reign over Narnia.

Twilight and Narnia both portray a fictional plot. They both have fictional creatures that eventually help the protagonist rule against the Villains. In Twilight, the vampires and werewolves work together with the Cullen’s to destroy the vulturie. In The Chronicles of Narnia, the magical creatures of Narnia work together with Lucy and her siblings to destroy the evil White Witch. The outcome of both battles is positive in both movie series. In both movie series, the fight between the villains and protagonist took a lot of hard work and preparation. In both series, you see the blood, sweat and tears that they shed from all of this preparation. These fictional animals help the protagonist and their families stay alive in the end. Bella and Edward, just like Lucy and her siblings become a powerful figure and rule over their fictional land. All of these characters understand what the outcome could be if they fought, which could be death. Lucy loves her siblings as much as possible. Bella also loves Edward with everything she has. She mentions how she had “never given much thought to how I would die. But dying in place of someone I love, seems like a good way to go. I can't bring myself to regret the decisions that brought me face to face with death. They also brought me to Edward.” Without your loved ones, you wouldn’t be the person you are. But love has its risks.

In The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe, Peter Pevensie, the oldest sibling, goes after Lucy and backs her up when she realized Mr. Tumnus is frozen to death by the evil White Witch. Love conquers all and those four English siblings would do anything for each other just like Edward and Bella. Edward and Bella have a connection like no other. When you think of a love story, this is the best one you could ask for. Meyer certainly puts her own spin on vampire lore, but Edward's still a would-be killer, and he does want to kill Bella at first. Love plays a big role in both of these movie series. Love has a strong effect on people and can change the way people act toward something. Edward, just like Peter Pevensie, fights for Bella and never leaves her side when the volurtie is after them. Edward and Peter would die in order to saved their loved ones in a blink of an eye. Even when “Peter did not feel very brave; indeed, he felt he was going to be sick. But that made no difference to what he had to do.” (C.J Lewis). Peter still knew what he had to do in order to save his family and help them to achieve their goal: to reign over Narnia.

People often have these fantasies about a battle, with no magic involved, between the wolves in twilight vs. Aslan. How could you not? While comparing these two movie series, you see how all the fictional characters are portrayed and their weaknesses/ strengths they give off. Besides the scary creatures and monsters in the movie series, these two movies also shared a common love story. Meyers and Lewis both turned a thriller into a love story in the end. It shows the constant battle between siblings and loved ones and how they would fight to save one another. These movie series have a great lesson to learn behind them.
