In this advertisement, three different men with fists coming out of their mouths harm three different women. In all three instances the woman is trying to escape the pain and the harm that is being put upon them. In each scenario the men's facial expressions show hate and anger towards the women and the women's facial expressions show pain, agony, and a wish to escape. It both successfully expresses the situation because it shows that verbal abuse exists visually and shows that the abuser is virtually doing physical harm; however, it is unsuccessful to capture both sexes being the abuser. This shows the man has dominance over women in the eyes of the media, and represents man as being the ones that are verbally abusing women and the inverse is not present in society, which is untrue. The image has no color which means it is gray scaled. It is gray scaled to cause the audience to focus more on the meaning without getting distracted by the background colors. The lack of color makes the audience deduce what the meaning of the images is rather than what color represents in the photo. Black and white can also be linked to the reality or the truth of the image. Truth and honesty can be linked to black and white, there is no distractors. It is clear cut and to the point. On their faces you can see obvious discomfort and pain. This shows what words can do to someone even though they leave no physical marks. Although there are no words on the advertisement you can infer that what is being said to the women is hurtful and abusive. Language in our society can be related to a knife. In the hands of a surgeon a knife is very useful and helpful. In the hands of an ignorant abuser a knife can do great harm. In this photo the fist coming out of the mouth is portraying what verbal abuse really does to someone. Physical abuse is often perceived as the only form of abuse. By looking at the elements of the photo we can determine that the colors of black and white represent honesty, the faces shown in the photograph represent the abusers and the abused in society, and the absence of language in the advertisement makes language that is perceived by the veiwer stronger. This is important because it shows the real harm that comes from verbal abuse and what it can do to a person mentally, physically and emotionally.

One of the more easily recognized element in this photo is the color scheme. In this advertisement it is very important to the message it conveys. The images are grey scaled which makes the photo black and white. This makes the viewer focus more on the faces and characters in the advertisement instead of the colors or background. This makes it easier for the viewer to see the deeper meaning and create a clear message because they focus more on the content rather than trying to analyze color scheme. It creates a tone of truth and honestly from the photo which provides more of an emotional feel to the viewer. The loss of color can also be linked to loss of life or feeling. In some videos games the screen goes black and white after your character dies. The presence of color in significant of happiness and sustainability, while the absence of color reflects the absence of love and the presence of a relationship. The photo is in black and white to signify the absence of a relationship between the two people and how verbal abuse is what caused the death of affection. In the moment the photo was taken the women are symbolized to have no love for the abusers. Black and white in the photo shows emotion, or lack of, in the instance that it was taken and the loss of love for one another.

The elements of the photographs in this advertisements show that in the eyes of the media verbal abuse is not taken as seriously as physical abuse. However, in this photo it claims that verbal abuse and physical abuse are of the same importance. It signifies that the words that are used in verbal abuse are just as harmful as a punch, choke, or pull of the hair. The faces in this photo are relatively clear. The men of the photo are abusing the women. The men's faces show anger, domination, and disgust toward the women, and the women show discomfort. All three women are exhibiting body language of leaning away of pulling their heads away from the grasp of the men's hands which represents their effort to avoid the pain that is put upon them. In the advertisement the women do not look to be speaking or making any noise. This shows the fear that they have of speaking out against a male. They live in fear of the things that will happen to them if they do speak out. Their faces show that the pain from verbal abuse is just as real as physical abuse by the damage it does to someone's life and their relationship.

The absence of words or language in the advertisement inevitably makes the language stronger. You can infer from the advertisement that the words that are replaced by the fists in the photos are hurtful. Even though language leaves no physical marks it can be still cause harm. An unknown author said, "The language we use to communicate with one another is like a knife. In the hands of a careful and skilled surgeon, a knife can work to do great good. But in the hands of a careless or ignorant person, a knife can cause great harm". He is stating that words can be helpful or hurtful depending on who uses them and how they are used. When he states that they can be helpful in the hands of a surgeon he is comparing them to a therapist or a friend using them to lift someone up from being hurt. When he compares the knife to being in the hands of a careless person he is saying it is equivalent to language used by abusers.

Language in our society can be used as a weapon or a means of healing. Sometimes the lack of language communicates better than any words ever could. The absence of language tells the whole story of the relationship. Verbal abuse creates insecurities, distrust, and a bad relationship between two people. The victim often becomes silent and unresponsive to the treatment they receive after a while. This shows that the lack of words is sometimes just as important as the presence. The lack of language can also be related to black and white, or the death of feelings. As life leaves a flower the color starts to fade away, as a relationship dies the color or feelings in that relationship die out as well and people drift apart. The characters faces in the advertisement show the effects of verbal abuse and how they affect the two different people. The abuser; full of power and control, and the abused; full of fear and emotion. The elements of this advertisement show the real meaning of the fists coming out of the mouths of men that harm women. Verbal abuse, although not always seen on the outside, harms others greatly which is depicted in this advertisement.
