Martin Luther King Jr., was a great leader in Civil Rights Movement. He believed in nonviolence, which is part of the idea of Mahatma Gandhi. He believed it can offer a peaceful and a beautiful world. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 because of what he did for the United States and the ideals he gave out to the world. In "The World House" his big idea was this world is like a big home, and there are members, which have different personalities and characteristics. He believed the world would be better and peaceful if those members learned how to live together. However, King's ideals of peace are still not present in the modern world as evidenced by the ongoing war racism, and global social conflicts.

"The World House" by Martin Luther King Jr. refers to the scientific and technological revolution that have been improving during the past hundreds years. However " the richer we have become materially, the poorer we have become morally and spiritually"(King, 283). All of the inventions have convenienced people's life, however, there are also dangerous potential to human beings. For example the bombs are used in wars. Martin Luther King used logical ideas to convey how people can't get along in this big house. Like "The World House" said," When the external of man's nature subjugates the internal, dark storm clouds begin to form"(King 284). King refers that people are lost in this maternal world. Their spiritual and moral souls are lacking in the house they build by their hands. People start to divide into groups, and judge people by their personal physical characteristics, to social status, and to history and cultures. So this big house separate to "We", "You", and "They". "You" and "They" are striving for land, food, and resource. But "We" are standing and screaming "Peace, we want peace", and then intentionally put eyes and one hand on what "You" and "They" are striving for. No one cares who is really need to help. Warfare, unequal social position, conflicts, and racism are everywhere. Big brothers don't like smaller brother because of his annoyance. Little brothers don't like younger sisters because of she is a girl. And the house were mass because of their fighting. If everybody wants control, and don't like others because of their "differences", how will the world be peaceful?

Furthermore, in "Toward the Great World House: Hans Kung and Martin Luther King Jr. on Global Ethics, Author Hak Joon Lee had a great understanding of "The World House". He said, " Martin Luther King Jr. was persistent in seeing this rising realty of global interdependence more than forty years ago, and arguing for the necessity of moral revolution and social transformation that befit this new reality. His idea of a "world perspective" reflects this awareness for attitudinal and moral transformation"(Lee 2). Hak says that King had vision that technology and science have influence on global connectivity, for example, planes and boats make this world smaller, reduce distances between each country, and facilitate to trade for benefits between each country. However, Hak also refers that King know that global connectivity would change people's attitudinal and moral. Because people use technology and science to plunder profits from other counties when people have power to achieve their desire. This analysis is connected to "Science has provided us with adequate means of survival and transportation, which make it possible to enjoy the fullness of this great earth. The question now is do we have the morality and courage required to live together as brothers and not be afraid?"(King 293). From King's word, he says that in this modern world, people's beliefs, morals, and religion are affected by "devices, techniques, mechanisms and instrumentalities"(King 293). Because technology extend and satisfied people's external material life, people hardly to use their heart to understand and to make friends. So People superficially make judgements based on other's modern cultures. Moral revolution is necessary to make people aware of these problem.

Unlike King's speeches, Malcolm X's speeches are filled with violent language. His speeches are trying to appeal people to join his side. He can lead those people to fight back, and take back what whites owe blacks. In his speech, "Not Just an American Problem, But a World Problem", he mentioned that" We are not for violence. We are for peace. But the people that we're up against are for violence. You can't be peaceful when you are dealing with them. They accuse us of what they themself are guilt of" ( Malcolm X 4). Malcolm X steals part of King's title, because Martin Luther King was so influential. Malcolm X used very logical words, and he was trying to wake up the dark side of the audiences. He referred to the saying "eyes for eyes, tooth for tooth". He tried to attract people using violence to stop violence. The "peace" used in his speech is just like "Many men cry 'Peace! Peace!'but they refuse to do the things that make for peace." that Martin Luther King said in "The World House". Because based on that time period, people were fighting for their own rights. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X were leaders of this movement but in the different ways. They are both effective speakers. However, in that time, Martin Luther King had more influential than Malcolm X did. Malcolm X used very powerful language using in his speech and King's title which can stir up the audience's' emotions. However, from the big picture, violences can only bring more violences. Wars can only bring more wars and death.

Although Malcolm X had some radical ideas based on his Muslim educational background, Malcolm X still had a similar purpose as Martin Luther King. According to Malcolm X's speech "We don't judge a man because of color of his skin. We don't judge you because you're white; we don't judge you because you are black; we don't judge you because you're brown."(Malcolm X 6) Malcolm X and King were saying that people shouldn't judge other people by difference in their physical appearances. Malcolm X and King illustrate that people rarely care about others' inside. People care that which "others" can fit in their network, and bring the benefit for them. For examples, in other countries, there are high class, middle class, and lower class. People most likely make judgement from others' wealthness instead of from others' skin color. Obviously, in King's and Malcolm X's time period whites have more "special rights" than blacks have. "We are "among the moral imperatives of our time, we are challenged to work all over the world with unshakable determination to wipe out the last vestiges of racism." (King, 289) The" last vestiges of racism" is the big challenge to human being. Kings believe that people can accept each other's differences, and wipe out this "last vestiges of racism", which would make this world complete, peaceful, and beautiful. But in the present, unlike what King and Malcolm said, people still judge others by their first appearances.

Without a doubt, Martin Luther King has a big picture and a long vision for this big house. King broadened his scope when he traveled to several parts of world. According to Hak Joon Lee's article, "In the oppressed conditions of African, Asian, and Latin American peoples, he witnessed the negative of European colonialism, militarism, and economic exploitation" (Lee 5). King saw that all the revolutionary leaders' ideas in Africa, Asia and Latin America are affected by capitals of the West. Because base on what he saw, he had more understanding that how the world would be in the future. "For King, poverty in Latin America and colonial oppressions in Africa and Asia were equally symptomatic of the problems of the entire human family."(Lee 6). He saw the global civil society, human rights laws, liberation movements, and the real condition of this big house, so that world house was represented better for this world. He wished his idea can have some sort of impact for this world, not only for United States. Like he said, "And if we are not diligent in our determination to root out the last vestiges of racism in our dealings with the rest of the world, we may soon see the sins of our fathers visited upon ours and succeeding generations."(King 290). This maybe is the admonishment that Martin Luther King give to the world. He found out racism is going to be a huge block in the future. However, King's ideas are romantic for today. Nowadays "We" "You" and "They" can't solid together because of basic problem which are differences. The racism well" corrosive evil that will bring down"(King 289) the foundation of the big house.

Martin Luther King's ideas affect past, the present, and the future. Partly because of Martin Luther King's impact, people have the civil rights, which can protect them from general infringements. Unfortunately racism still exist. Racism still prevents making close relationship between people and people. racism is the a big prevention of a peaceful world. How can a world be peaceful when "We" , "You", and "They" have differences?
