Martin Luther King Jr. born 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was mostly known for his leadership during the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's. King was assassinated April 4, 1968 while supporting a sanitation worker in Memphis, Tennessee. King was also noticed for most of his works which included "I Have a Dream" and "Letter from Birmingham Jail." The World House written by Martin Luther King was published 1967, the year before his tragic death. The World House basically deals with integration. Martin Luther left some papers behind after being killed. These papers were filled with ideas and suggested plots about the future. One of the main suggested plots "a widely separated family inherits a house in which they have to live together." He insisted that the house was filled with whites and blacks, Easterner and Westerner, Gentile and Jew, Catholic and Protestant, Muslim and Hindu. King's plot interacts with the world that we live in. The moral to his suggested plot is that we all must learn to live with each other in peace without violence.

Stokley Carmichael, later known as Kwame Ture, was born 1941 in Trinidad and later immigrated to the United States at the age of 11. In 1966, Carmichael became the chairman of the student nonviolent Coordinating Committee and in 1967 went on to become the Honorary Prime Minister of the "Black Panther." Carmichael made a speech dealing with the rights of blacks. This led to whites and blacks fighting and arguing the oppressive nature of societal institutions. In his speech he talked about blacks knowing their rights and

These situations were very similar to each other. King and Carmichael were very smart men and they both really wanted the same things as time evolved. Martin Luther King and Stokley Carmichael makes a valid point, but Carmichael's point regarding rights of blacks and knowing the fact that they are able to move and do the same as whites even though they are being denied by whites is more effective. Carmichael's point is more effective because it talks about freedom and also the rights of blacks while Martin Luther King talks about how blacks and whites need to get along which is less important. Carmichael simply expresses his feelings and state facts about what blacks should be able to do and not do. Carmichael says "for example, I am a black man. I know that. I also know that while I am black I am a human being, and therefore I have the right to go into any public place." This showed the knowledge in which Carmichael had and also how serious he was about getting the right to do what he and other blacks wanted. He's very confident in his speech. He says "It is white people across the country who are incapable of allowing me to live where I want to live. You need a civil rights bill, not me. I know I can live where I want to live." Carmichael wasn't accepting the fact that you had to be white to have a civil rights bill. He was very straight forward in what he had to say, no matter what anyone had to say. His program or committee became more known and aggressive when it came to this particular group having their rights. As the prime minister of the Black Panther Party, he had many tough choices in which he had to make. Everything that he dealt with before he made his speech was only violence and trouble caused by whites.

In Carmichael's speech, he talks to mostly white audience about how we need to end racism and also gives some suggestions on what we need to do. In order for America to live on a basic principle of human relationships, a new society must be born. Racism must die, and the economic exploitation of this country of non-white peoples around the world must also die. (Carmichael 252) The reason America has to be brought up by a new society is because the people who are here now has such a bad relationship between the opposite race of them whether its whites hating blacks, Latinos hating Asians, and so on and so forth. He Carmichael says that "racism must die." As we all know, it is very difficult for racism to die. Racism will never stop until someone is brutally punished and made an example out of. It might even take more, but getting this will definitely get people's attention who are pulling against each other.

As the Prime Minister of Black Power, with all of the people who were down to take a stand against whites and get what they deserved, Carmichael still had to control them. He lets everyone know that we are oppressed because we are black. He expresses that whites are believing that if us blacks do what they say then we have the opportunity to do some things they want and also sit at tables with other whites. "We are being treated like fools" Carmichael says. He had no choice but to fight for his rights along with the others.

One of the most important things that Carmichael says is that "if there's going to be any integration, it's going to be a two-way thing. If you believe in integration, you can come live in watts. You can send your children to the ghetto schools. Let's talk about that. If you believe in integration, then we're going to start adopting us some white people to live in our neighborhood." This was one of the most powerful words that a black man could ever say in such a racist time. Carmichael let it be known that we will not be alone.

In the speech "The World House" by Martin Luther King he gives a very valid and important suggestion when it comes to different skin colors living in house. This house pertained to the world in which we live in now. From the 1960's, we struggled with getting alone with the opposite race. Martin made a very important point when he says "this world-wide neighborhood has been brought into being as a result the modern scientific and technological revolutions." This basically means that with all of the technology that has been invented, this allows other races to communicate and get to know more about each other as years go by. This world that we live in now is vastly different from the world of just 100 years ago. Later in his speech, he brings back up the point of technological revolution. Martin Luther says "we have also witnessed a world-wide freedom revolution over the last few decades." This is very important because it describes everything that blacks have experienced within that one saying of King. His word choice is very strong and wise. The words "freedom revolution" is very powerful and it expresses the effort in which blacks gave while fighting for freedom. These all connect starting with technology because it allows us to communicate and by doing that it allows us to have a better relationship with these others and because were more connected, that means we have a responsibility for each other and that's where freedom and revolution takes place. In the 1960's, there was a fundamental change in power. More blacks started to get involved into important things and things were well organized. These changes were made in a relatively short period of time. Blacks fought to get there freedom. These blacks were getting chances to get involved in many activities and actually have a word to give and speak their mind which dealt with blacks having power or right to act, or to speak.

Main points- if there is going to be integration it has to be a two way thing.

-The only way to deal with poverty is to give poor people money.
