Visual text is a picture that you describe by looking at the color, the texture, and other elements to help get a better idea of what it is. Commercials are a type of visual text. In the Air Jordan XL commercial, it shows a Jordan shoe that's being displayed to be sold and wore by people who are interested in Jordan shoes. The Jordan XL Commercial was made to persuade other basketball players to buy the shoe using the elements of texture, realism, color, lone figure in shoes, shadow, and perspective. 

Texture: there are a couple different textures in this commercial. The first texture is the shoe which shows the detail and suede straps in the shoe which could be appealing to buyers. Also the style of the shoe. It's a high top shoe and it looks like a strong supportive shoe and a new shoe. The second texture is the floor which is very old looking with dust which makes the shoe look even newer. These textures persuades the viewers that the shoe is stylish, supportive, and new. 

The people that made this commercial is showing realism by making the setting on an actual wooden basketball floor where professional basketball players play. They also show the actor of the commercial running down court full speed to show the actual game speed in the Jordan shoe. Seeing the shoe in full speed shows the buyer that the shoe has full traction and is very stable. Traction stability is what we look for when buying a shoe and to see what it is actually like in person. 

Black is a color that you want to use when trying to make another color pop. In this instance, black puts the focus more on the shoe. The coloring design of what he's wearing makes the shoe more appealing because what he's wearing is the same color as the shoe. In the commercial, he dresses in a white shirt, red shorts, and white and red shoes to make it look more attractive. The brown wooden floor also brings the color and style of the shoe out more. The color red brings out energy and in people. The color red persuades buyers that they will get energy by wearing the shoe. 

The main point of lone figure is to focus on one person rather than five. You get to focus in on that one thing that you focused to talk about. 

The main point of shadow is to get multiple details on the shoe, and also to show in the commercial that the shoe is the main topic. In the commercial, they use contrast by making everything outside of the sneakers really dark and everything within 2 feet around the sneaker really bright to get a better focus on that one shoe. The shadow dark shadow was a great idea because it allows the viewers to focus on the quality movement and flexibility in the shoe so that we can buy. 

The main point of perspective is to show newness and support of the shoe. The view points in the camera angles gives the people who are looking at the commercial a better shot of what the shoe looks like in action, the small details in the shoe style, and is the shoe stable as it moves from left to right. Close up views are used in the commercial to show viewers how the shoe operates in real life situations and how attractive the shoe looks up close. In conclusion, we use these camera angles and close up views to show and get the viewers more attached to the shoe and want to buy. 

In conclusion, the Air Jordan commercial uses elements to describe the shoe so that others can be interested in buying. The color and texture in these particular elements shows the light and dark between the shoe and the background. This commercial is realistic because they use a real human rather than using a cartoon character. Also, the commercial takes place on a brown wooden court where professional NBA basketball players play. The perspective of this commercial is to focus on the style, details, and movement in the Jordan shoe. Overall, all of these elements helps the shoe get more attention and shows all of the good that the shoe does for the person wearing the shoe, mostly basketball players.
